Play MagazineA tad repetitious but always extra caffienated. [Aug 2006, p.65]
-
AceGamezSure, this is a button-bashing fist-fest with a gimmick that you may or may not appreciate, but if you're a fan of the show, then Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: The Genie & the Amp is worth picking up.
-
Don't come into Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: The Genie and the Amp expecting too much, and you'll be satisfied with what you get – a fun, short brawling romp that is reasonably well-suited to portable play.
-
Genie & the Amp makes good use of the DS touch screen, but it’s still something that could have been done via the buttons instead of the touch screen. The graphics do a good job of bringing the show’s ambience to the small screen and the music is right on the money.
-
There's good work here, on the graphics, the soundtrack, the interface, and even the combat system, for all that it doesn't work out in the long run.
-
A brawler with good ideas looking for a slightly forgiving player to see the potential in there.
-
Game InformerRandom button pressing will get you farther than most attempts at strategy, and getting locked into long combo animations is a "feature" that makes me just want to die. [Sept. 2006, p.100]

Jul 22, 2016I actually give this a 10 cause how fun and replay value. The game does have very minor flaws but there blocked out by the pros. This game is amazing!
