MichaelB.Jun 29, 2008I'm glad I gave this game a try...it sounds excellent with headphones! The clicking disturbs my wife when she's trying to sleep, and my wrist hurts after about an hour, but it is so much fun to have Guitar Hero with you wherever you go! A MUST BUY!!!

KeithB.Jul 4, 2008Just to frustrating to play , and painful to hold.

AndrewC.Jul 7, 2008This is an incredible attempt at a portable Guitar Hero. The Guitar Grip is not perfect but it works and once adjusted to it - it works very well. I could not expect much more from a portable GH game. This is worth a buy!

JoMamaJun 22, 2008Overall, I liked it. The graphics were kinda off, but the gameplay was pretty amazing. I really like the whole concept of it. Also, the career mode didn't end as well as I thought. One thing I'm really happy about is that they got the drummer spot on, unlike GH3 where the drummer was ugly and twitched when he played. So, yeah, I liked it, and would recommend it to any GH fan.

NoeumH.Jun 23, 2008I thought this game would be way too easy and not take any time to beat but it actually was pretty difficult and i haven't beat the game on expert yet.

JakeH.Jun 28, 2008Its not perfect but so far I love the game. it does a good job of bringing the series to a mobile platform. The song list could probably be amped up a bit for those who hate pop. otherwise its a solid title.

Mar 2, 2017For a portable version of Guitar Hero, is really well done. The Guitar Grip is really comfortable, the gameplay is really funny and the song list is acceptable.
-
Sep 7, 2020an okay attempt at a portable take on the guitar hero franchise. the gameplay certainly does not translate well to the small screen however

Even though Guitar Hero: On Tour might not feel like playing guitar, it definitely feels like playing Guitar Hero: it’s an excellent portable representation of the full experience, and it’s incredibly hard to think of any way to do it better than how Vicarious Visions did it.
-
So Guitar Hero On Tour manages to be more than a pimping out of the series and more than just a dumbed-down version of its console cousins.

It's awesome to be able to play Guitar Hero wherever you are, the song list is nice and varied (though too short), and the gameplay is almost perfect. The only downsides are you may get some serious tendinitis in your wrist if you play for too long, and the game feels like you're playing Guitar Hero rather than an actual guitar, which is the biggest attraction for the console counterparts.
