    Just ignore all the ironic positive reviews and DO NOT by any means play this game (except for emulation purposes). I could say so much about this that its not even funny. Besides, the movie of the same name this was based off was already mediocre to begin with, as with every film ever made based off the Garfield comic strip series.

    Some reasons include this game being near unplayable in terms of its controls on some of the levels, the game is so unfair in the platforming stages that one HIT kills Garfield and forces the player to start all over from the beginning of the level with not a SINGLE checkpoint present, the levels themselves are incredibly lackluster, the scoring system is complete ass, and the dancing level is straight up unplayable unless you search up a tutorial on how to do it.

    This game is so bad, it makes me wish I tossed the game out the car window I was in when I played it upon losing the studio level for the millionth time.

    No, in fact, I hate it so much I wish to track down every remaining copy of this game in existence (spare my original copy to remind myself of how far gaming had fallen since then) and destroy them all (I already bought 1 more copy of this game in my possession for this purpose).    … Expand

    If you would ask me what my favorite game was, I would laugh at you in disgust, because there is only one true Game and it is this masterpiece called Garfield gets real.
    Here is the story of how I got blessed to be able to play this Game:
    I was just walking along the streets as always on a nice and sunny day (it was a bit cloudy, but the sun wasn‘t blocked off, cause they were too small)    If you would ask me what my favorite game was, I would laugh at you in disgust, because there is only one true Game and it is this masterpiece called Garfield gets real.
    Here is the story of how I got blessed to be able to play this Game:
    I was just walking along the streets as always on a nice and sunny day (it was a bit cloudy, but the sun wasn‘t blocked off, cause they were too small) and bought myself some ice-creame, when I felt the urge to parkour up the tallest building in my city. After I BLJ-ed up the skyscraper there was a bright light shining at a specific spot on top of the building. I went to take a closer look at this weird phenomenon and I was shocked to see what was covered in this godly light ray. Tears rolled down my face as I knew that my life was finally fulfilled. It was destiny, I knew, god chose me to experience perfection pressed into a small cartridge. So I pulled out one of my 5 DS-es that I took with me, incase such a scenario would happen, and the second I turned the game on I ascended to heaven. As I arrived there I saw Jesus himself. He congratulated me for finding the game and offered me to become a God... but i refused. All i wanted was to play the game, and i knew there was nothing worth living for after I‘ve done that, so being immortal would bring me nothing but pain and agony.
    Suddenly I heard clapping, coming from behind me. I turned around to see who it was and I couldn‘t believe my eyes: it was the man, the myth, the legend, Bob Ross. “You mastered my test“ he said proudly, “and for that I gift you a Garfield gets real Poster to show your friends and family and remind them to go and watch Garfield gets real: the movie (now available in your nearest cinema)“. This seemed good at first, but I knew that there was something fishy about it, so I grabbed his Afro and ripped it off, revealing my arch-nemesis: Generic K-Pop fan Nr. 766. “H-How“ stuttered Generic K-Pop fan Nr. 766 “How did you know I was hiding behind this cheap Bob Ross costume that i found in the dumpster behind Wallmart?... nevermind“. “Your time is over generic K-Pop fan Nr. 766, for your horrible deeds I hereby banish you too Hell“ I announced. “I will get you... one day“. These were his last words before he disappeared in an epic flame show.
    Now that I had this behind me, there was nothing in the way of me playing Garfield gets real... or so I thought. Before I could get to playing the Game I was interrupted by some old guy with a long white beard. He mumbled something about “The prophecy“ and “finally we‘re saved“, but I didn‘t listen to him, because I was too focused on Garfield gets real: the movie: the game. The old man wouldn‘t shut up, so I pushed him off the cloud we were standing on. Jesus was still there and watched as I did what I had to do. His face got white and he started crying. I felt bad for him (I still don‘t know why, this Jesus guy seems like a pushover when you get to know him closer), so I knew what to do. Even if it hurt my soul, I gave him the game, so that he could find happiness once more. He thanked me and forgave me for killing his father (I have no idea when I did that, but ok liberal, am I right haha). Now that I gave the only copy of Garfield gets real: the movie: the game on nintendo ds away to Jesus I didn‘t know what to do... life seemed meaningless, as I couldn‘t achieve the ultimate goal of playing Garfield gets real: the movie: the game on my nintendo ds system, so I accepted death.
    However fate decided that it was not my time to go, not now. As I pulled out my epic samurai sword and wanted to commit sudoku, I saw a silhouette in the distance. Whatever it was, it was coming towards me, and soon enough it got close enough so that I could see who it was. It was Keanu Reeves, the most beloved person on earth (what an honor to meet me). I asked him what he was doing in heaven, he answered “I was searching for my boy Etika, who went missing a few days ago and if he was here, I would take him with me back to earth (how nice of him). I told Keanu that he shouldn‘t worry about that, and that I believed Etika was still roaming around earth... somewhere. Keanu teared up and thanked me and as he wanted to go back down, he called me “breath taking“. These two words echoed in the air and something happened, that I could never even think off. Out of Ultra Heaven came a Game, which I thought was cancelled and never released. It was: Garfield gets real for the Wii. I was crying and shaking. Keanu noticed what had happened and watched me pick up the game. I turned around and asked him “will you give me the honor and play this game with me?“. Immediately he said YES and rushed over to me.
    And so Keanu and I played Garfield gets real: the movie: the Game for our nintendo Wii entertainment System for the rest of our days. 10/10

    I was walking around at my local game stop looking through game after game when there it was, the jewel known as "Garfield Gets Real" I nearly flew home to play the game and was captivated by its level design and graphics. I played it for days on end and even soiled my trousers and when i reached the ending boy howdy was i sweaty for a sequel so in my opinion this gets a 10/10!

I was walking down my road when I look to my right to see none other than Jim Carrey Beating up a homeless man and I thought to my self i have to help these men settle their differences so I ran to the closest game stop.

"this is what those men need to settle their differences for sure. " I thought to my self with a single tear running down my face when I reached the 2 men Jim Carey was taking a break from beating the homeless gentleman sense-less so I hop in the middle. "why can't we just play Kinect star wars?" I ask. The 2 agree with me and follow me back to my estate where we decided to set up my Kinect. but as i finish setting up the Kinect i turn to the homeless man who starts to take off a mask revealing that he was actually John Quiñones from what would you do and as my prize he gave me this wonderful game. now onto the review

    Garfield Gets Real is probably the best thing I've ever experienced in my life. I was walking through a shop when something caught my eye, this wasn't the robbery happening a shop over, no, this of course was Garfield Gets Real for the Nintendo DS. I immediately purchased this game and gave the cashier $10CAD extra for his service to this country. I went home and put it in my Nintendo DSGarfield Gets Real is probably the best thing I've ever experienced in my life. I was walking through a shop when something caught my eye, this wasn't the robbery happening a shop over, no, this of course was Garfield Gets Real for the Nintendo DS. I immediately purchased this game and gave the cashier $10CAD extra for his service to this country. I went home and put it in my Nintendo DS which of course is covered in Skylanders stickers, because Skylanders by Activision, is truly epic. The game booted up and I was greeted to Garfield and Odie raping my ear drums, a very nice touch if you ask me. The music is also terrific, I have the soundtrack downloaded on every device I own. The game has nice levels consisting of catching food and difficult obstacle courses, but the best mechanic is of course the dancing mechanic. The developers must have realised this and made one level dedicated to dancing. You press a certain button and Garfield will do a sexy dance that will make you moan out loud. So all in all, Garfield Gets Real is the best game ever made, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to even consider themselves a human being. PS, John Arbuckle is hot.… Expand

I was going to save my money for Modern Warfare 2, but when I saw this on the shelf just calling out to me, I took the chance and will not look back with regret. Forget Fallout, forget Metal Gear, forget Grand Theift Auto, forget Zelda, forget EVERYTHING!! You are NOT a gamer until you've experiencedGarfield Gets Real takes gaming to a whole new level.     Some decent variety in the mechanics and a fairly amusing premise aren’t enough to save Garfield Gets Real from its monotonous and absurd level design. Very young devotees may find it a briefly amusing adventure, but this really feels more like an advertisement that someone is expecting you to pay money for.

    The music is simple, though repetitive and the graphics are actually pretty good compared to the game play. If I was a little kid and my parents bought me this game, I’d get a few good days of play out of it before trading it in for a well made game… or any game really.

    Garfield Gets Real isn't a good game and is one of the worst licensed titles I've played this year so DS owners, Garfield fans and gamers in general will do well to avoid this one. There's nothing remarkable or enjoyable about the gameplay, so you should avoid this one at all costs and not give into the budget price.
