The gameplay is a real throwback to those THQ SNES action-platformers of old, right down to the floaty control. [Nov 2007, p.75]
  2. Ultimately, El Tigre is a solid game for anyone who is a fan of the book or television series. The narrative is great and follows the series well, and even though it does have its shortcomings in gameplay, it is still a good game.
  3. A great title for anyone that’s a fan of El Tigre. Unlike most repetitive action games, you won’t want to leave this adventure behind (permanently) when it gets boring. Its boredom subsides quickly, and after that you’ll have the urge to return.

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera has less depth and charm than a 12 minute episode of the show. There's just not much to do and what is there only kind of works.
  5. Kids beware THQ has made a crumby product in hopes of gaining a quick buck.

The paper thin story is bad, also. Seriously, I've seen episodes of Teletubbies with more depth than this game. You just walk around, mash A, and jump occasionally. And it's over in like, 1 hour. The sprites in the cutscenes look off as well. It's a step up from some of the other dreck Barking Lizards has developed, but that's not saying much. The PS2 version is actually a game, instead of this putrid interactive theft of money Expand
