  1. Adult players may find the story a tad on the horrendous side, but Drone Tactics easily holds its own in the strategy and gameplay departments.

If you consider yourself a fan of turn-based strategy games, though, you may find the engaging insect mech combat to be worth it.
  3. A solid title with a lot of shine on the core gameplay. Anyone looking for something new in the genre should give this a test run.

The result is a storyline that will elicit nothing but eye-rolls and nasal snorts from anyone over 12, but the game at the core of Drone Tactics is surprisingly well-made. [June 2008, p.87]
  5. Drone Tactics is functional and occasionally fun, but it never gets exciting.
  6. It's definitely a superior example of turn-based strategy, and certainly the best insect-based example of the genre. And, in a slightly tenuous attempt to tie the end of this review back in to our opening trivia, it's definitely more fun than counting to 10 quintillion.

Genre fans won't find much challenge here but it's diverting enough while it lasts. [Aug 2008, p.68]

Sure, the giant bugs thing is kind of goofy, but the tactics gameplay is light and fun, for the most part. Not anywhere near the top of the "tactics" genre, but worth playing if you've played the rest of the crop. Full Review »
