It might not be the flashiest or most original movie tie-in game, but Shrek the Third does its job and uses the DS’s abilities for a fun and creative experience. Older players might not be too interested, but this game is good for younger kids who liked the movie.

The big green ogre saves his best outing for the Nintendo DS.

Nintendo PowerThe degree of challenge and polish never quite ramps up to where it ought to be, but Shrek the Third is a good time nonetheless. [July 2007, p.93]
-
Shrek the Third has a lot of the humor and charm of the film series, a unique plot, innovative controls and a rather neat multiplayer feature. It suffers from some of those controls being hard to use and ultimately still being a short movie game that is too easy for anyone that isn't in elementary school.
-
Juggling the different characters' abilities is interesting, though some may not like the repetition or the game's gradual pace.
-

-

-
In fact, I might go so far as to say a parent might enjoy playing this title while their kid is doing his homework. Though I still wouldn't recommend they buy it for themselves.

Nintendo GamerIt makes chess look like [a] snap and will make children cry. [Sept 2007, p.71]
-
A pretty but repetitive puzzle-based adventure, Shrek the Third feels more like completing a series of chores than having monster-sized fun.
