  1. Overall, Monsters vs. Aliens is a solid videogame adaptation from the movie. Compared to the console versions, the Nintendo DS version is a bit more monotonous since most of the levels are sidescrolling levels of some variety. There are certainly better sidescrollers on the DS, but young gamers who are fans of the movie will enjoy pitting their monsters against aliens in this uncomplicated game.
  2. Activision and DreamWorks have another solid movie-licensed game ready for fans of the upcoming film.
  3. The biggest problem with Monsters vs. Aliens is its unbelievably short length.
  4. This one feels like you could finish it in the theater before the movie ended.
  5. It has some fun in it for the young ones, but they will tire of it if they haven't already beaten it.
  6. Much of the gameplay is completely run of the mill and its few strengths, the graphics and voice acting, are cut down to mediocrity by a general lack of imagination and effort.

No one part of the game is exceedingly worse than the others, but rather they all combine to create a kind of listless malaise that makes you hate the fact that you even wasted a few hours playing through everything. So save yourself the trouble and don't. Please don't.

We wonder if we did something terrible in a past life which is coming back to haunt us as movie tie-in Monsters vs. Aliens. [June 2009, p.74]

Best game ever (I totally played it and didn't write a review as a meme, I didn't I promise)
