Given how long ago the title was released as well as the source material, I did have relatively low expectations for this game, and they were minorly surpassed.

This game is essentially a 2.5D platformer with some action elements thrown in. The platforming is a bit janky and boring to be honest, but the action is fairly fun and transforming into a dragon, and balancing your abilities

The graphics were quite alright given how close it came out to the DS' release. There did seem to be some pitches I experienced while playing mostly with collision. For fans of the show, if there are still any, I could see this being a great time. Otherwise, I'd recommend a pass.

It is worth noting, there is a multiplayer mode in the game, but it seems like it was an afterthought as it is so janky and rudimentary it's almost not worth playing at all. Shame as it seems like it would be quite fun had it been more technically sound.

A lot more fun that I expected it to be. The different gameplay styles for each level keep the title from being stale, though the platforming parts are not very fun, even in dragon form.
  2. I know that I don't fall in the demographic that American Dragon: Jake Long is aimed at, but even I can recognize a bad game, even if it is sprinkled with one or two points of interest.
