The game was not very good. The vocals were fine, and graphics were fine, but who cranked up the difficulty? Some of these games had me trying to get a method until I could finally get it! The game was beat in a short time (not a single session), and... well, the game gets abandoned because there's not really any replay value in this game. I have one question. Where's the DS Download Play mode? That could have helped a lot! Then we could have at least some fun without having 2 copies of Cars! I frown upon the multiplayer feature because of this bug. It would have been easy to do so, seeing there's only 2 players and... there's not a lot of vareity. Only 2 cars. Sorry, doc, you could do better. The GameCube version did better. Get the GameCube/PS2/XBox version instead. Expand

This game is hard for young children to figure out. It does not hold one's attention very long. I would not recommend for younger players.

This game is awful. The graphics sucka and the whole game is bland and isn't exciting in the slightest. This game is actually really good on the other systems, so it completely surprised me when I played this piece of crap. I guess the point I'm trying to make is don't buy this game. You will regret it.

I remember my friend buying this. We expected it to be just like Cars for PS2. It was not. The graphics SUCKED. The GAMEPLAY SUCKS EVEN MORE. Play boring, too difficult minigames that are dull. There isn't that much action to it. All you do is play minigames. At least it beats Crash Boom Bang. But really? I suggest you buy the other versions except GBA because it sucks.

I remember getting this game so I could play the Gamecube version on the go. I played it and I was so anoyed that it was just some mini games, nothing like the console games.

The mini games were ether way too hard for an 8 year old to figure out, or too dull to be fun. One of them I never learned how to play, and the manual does'int give much info at all, the most worthless manual I

The mini games were ether way too hard for an 8 year old to figure out, or too dull to be fun. One of them I never learned how to play, and the manual does'int give much info at all, the most worthless manual I had, before mutalating it in a fit of rage. There's a race that ties the minigames together, but it's too basic to be anywher close to even a simple Java phone game from the era. The menu to select a car which is just to pick a minigame has no music, just the sound of crickets. The sound I hear because I'm bored, and hate this game. Theres bary much to ofer, and there's a credit you can see to find out who made this.

It was because of this was why I missed out on those GBA and later DS Cars games, like Cars Race-o-rama is an actual 3d racer that can live up to the console version, with obvious set backs and bottle necking of the ds console.

Overall, just skip this ds game, and play the console games, or if your like me wanting to play these on the go, than get one of the GBA or even Race-O-Rama on ds, it's a real 3d racing game! Same with the GBA ones, aside from the Cars game on GBA just called Cars, that's an isometric port of the game, but has the same story as consoles and pc versions.

Another cheap rubbish mini-game compilation. Each and every game in here is poorly thought out and awful in it's own way, like this some sort of modern Action 52. Not the worst NDS game, but not the best either. Some minigames are pretty frustrating or boring.

The game has very simple gameplay, just a few challenges and that's basically it. The gameplay is very poor and the minigames are very boring, try playing this on the ds for more than 30 minutes.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have never before felt inclined to write a review, however the experience this game provides is a unique kind of hell. The minigames are at best boring, such as the fishing minigame where you help matey, and at worst (and there are a lot of the worst ones) deep-dives into the minds of the utterly deranged individuals that created them. It doesn't help that in order to get to the main game, the racing part, you must first complete 3 minigames to unlock each track, with 12 minigames total for all 4 tracks.

This is utter lunacy, some of the minigames genuinely made me felt like I was losing my last few threads of sanity. The fueling minigame is a great example, as is the tire-throwing minigame. In the fueling game, you run a gas station, where in each round the amount of cars appearing and the amount of cars to fuel increases. After a few seconds, the cars will lose patience and leave, you may not let this happen to more than 3 cars or you will have to restart the round.

The amount of cars that appear in the last round is actual madness, and I cannot imagine that more that 1% of children, if even that, managed to complete this minigame. The kicker? This is one of the first 3 minigames. So if you don't complete this, then tough **** because you won't be playing the racing part of the game.

The racing itself is actually pretty alright all things considered, but even it is quite lackluster and I feel that if the developers had spent more time developing that rather than downright infuriating and boring minigames, or perhaps had made more minigames optional, the game may have been better.

In any case, I would not recommend playing this game, though to be fair, it's 2023, I doubt many people are purchasing shovelware DS games.

The actual race that ties the mini-games together is absolutely terrible, and easily the biggest stigma.

There's no real story to hold any of this together, so in the end, Cars for the DS amounts to nothing more than some disjointed mini-games that are either too drab or too long to warrant unnecessary replays.
  3. Compared to so many other movie-inspired games, Cars for the Nintendo DS is genuinely one of the more interesting ones. The care that went into each of the different minigames is impressive. Unfortunately, there just aren't enough of them here to hold a person's attention for very long.
