DV Zero surprised me with its well-laid-out, retro-style platforming -- so much so that my daily commutes flew by as I kept my nose in the screen. I would love to see a follow-up, but as this was basically a promotional tie-in, there's little chance of that happening.
-
Sure the game might be a bit on the short side, but given the game's addictive gameplay and fairly high degree of difficulty, it's difficult to complain, especially considering the game will only set you back 500 Nintendo Points.
-
This game is absolutely worth playing if you enjoy action platformers from the early days of the medium.
-
It succeeds in virtually every aspect of its execution, and if you own a DSi this fantastic piece of software is an absolute must-own.
-
This delightfully retro download packs an entertaining punch.
-
Dark Void Zero would have been considered a "classic" had it been made 25 years ago, and today, it's a retro-style blast.
-
Official Nintendo Magazine UKIf this had been a real NES game back in the day, it'd have been one of the best. [May 2010, p.88]
-
The '80 are back in action with another original work by Capcom: Dark Void Zero is a brilliant but short platform adventure similar to masterpieces like Metroid and Castlevania.
-
Forget the original home console title, this charming 8-bit throwback is by far the superior game.
-
Being a Metroid clone, Dark Void Zero is quite perfect for the digital delivery and is seriously recommended for those who haven't forget the thrill of the 80's arcade.
-
Had there been more levels, Dark Void Zero would've been unbeatable.
-
A remarkable action-adventure game at a very reasonable price, which nostalgic players will love.
-
The classic action-genre from the 8bits generation's still alive and well. Dark Void Zero's here not only to use the name of the new Capcom's franchise, but also to represent one of the most interesting games that we've tried so far on the DSiWare channel. Pure action, fun and retro-style. A nice pick if you're looking for some fun.
-
What's there is fun and feels well designed, but with only three levels it is over far too quickly.
