Jan 7, 2021In 21st century we have so many so much better games. Here you will encounter nothing more than mediocre graphic, mediocre sound, poor story and frustrating gameplay. Honestly, I can't see why Chrono Trigger have all this cult.
If you are not huge fan of jRPG or you don't have high amounts of nostalgia I strongly recommend to play something else. -
Jun 28, 2020La mejor versión oficial puede ser la NDS porque pone lo mismo que el original más escenarios extras y un final que conecta con el Chrono Cross

Feb 16, 2021No, I do not "owe it to myself" to play this game. Unfortunately, I made the mistake to play it. It is fundamentally flawed.

Feb 17, 2021One of the worse SNES RPGs. It seems as though Square Enix missed the point of video games.

May 17, 2011Definitely overrated. MaloD and edf are right in saying that it's extremely boring and tedious. There is no depth to the gameplay, only repetitions and secrets for those who enjoy them. This is an old RPG, perhaps a masterpiece back then, but we've learned a lot since then. Play only if you have the nostalgia.

Jun 23, 2017FF7 is way better lol. Worst game sqare has made. I mean, the main character doesn't use the buster sword, so, it's already a 0/10. Only redeeming qualty is Frog.

edfJan 15, 2009I LOVE role playing games and before this had a blast with dragon quest. This one is EXTREMELY boring and hard to navigate. The graphics are so pixelated it's hard to tell what is a treasure chest, or a road, or a person. Everything is REALLY tiny and difficult to view, and I find the game play really boring, and the battles even more so.

Feb 17, 2021I hated every second of it. Why do people like this game so much? Everything is simplified to the point of being the literal, utilitarian definition of what makes a mechanic. To see people call it polished is very surprising.

GameProRegardless of whether you played it already or are new to the series, you owe it to yourself to check out this amazing title. [Dec 2008, p.97]

Nintendo PowerDespite my criticisms, Chrono Trigger is an amazing adventure and a required purchase for ardent fans and anyone who's never played the game before. [Holiday 2008, p.82]

The game is virtually unchanged in its core, having a new script re-write, but retaining the visuals, music, character designs, interface styles, and options of the source material. At the same time, Square Enix also ensures that this is the definitive version of Chrono Trigger out there, as the game comes complete with every option you could ever want for touch vs. button control, two or single screen display, or game pacing and difficulty.
