  1. It's worth checking out if you're already a fan, but if you've never tried an adventure game before, this is a pretty solid entry point.
  2. The puzzles are well-crafted and mostly intuitive, while the story seems lackluster and fails to provide motivation at some points. Since story is often the major driving force behind an adventure game, it falls to the individual player to decide how well the game fares.

Even with the hidden scrolls dotted around levels that must be collected, and the odd awkard puzzle that takes longer than expected to solve, there is little to prevent Chronicles of Mystery from being completed within around two hours.

    A two-trick pony. [Christmas 2009, p.98]
  5. It's a promising start that offers a few hours of decent entertainment, just one that never unearths much imagination along the way.
  6. Overall, I found Curse of the Ancient Temple to be somewhat easy, but novice or younger gamers should find it challenging.

    A flimsy mess. [Christmas 2009, p.70]
