Beat City's delightful presentation and supercatchy chip-tune soundtrack will get your toes tapping and your head banging in no time. [May 2010, p.85]
  2. The game is short, and it won't take much time at all to complete. What Beat City lacks in length, it makes up for with fun, rhythm-based gameplay and a silly sense of humor.

A decent addition to any rhythm game enthusiast's collection, no matter what the age or experience level. However, older or more experienced gamers may find that the game lacks challenge and that the game's aesthetic is a tad too cheery.
  4. Fun series of mini-games loses its appeal all too quickly.
  5. Not the best rhythm game, but one of the better.

Only the coldest of hearts could fail to find joy in whispering sweet nothings to a pretty young girl while an old man is distracted by a giant monkey. [July 2010, p.119]
  7. Nintendo Gamer

Little more than an uninspired remake of a vastly superior original. [June 2010, p.65]

the game has a bland story characters have no personality the games have bland boring and flat songs
there are few audio cues in the game
the game has a bland story characters have no personality the games have bland boring and flat songs
there are few audio cues in the game that makes the game more hard in a unintentional way
the practice doesn’t help at all unlike rhythm heavens practice that give you text on how to do it instead of a image
there is no point in playing the story because it’s only for unlocking games when you can play all the games in the mini games section
the game also has no challenge not once did i have to “try a game again” as the rating system is very flawed
i wouldn’t recommend this to anyone to spend your money on a better rhythm game like rhythm heaven

I like the part where they whisper I think that is a good part of the game and I think the hair one is weird
