A solid game that will keep you entertained for a good 5+ hours with plenty of minigames to replay. Also comes with 4 fast-paced minigames. I think this game is sure to please young girls with its gentle challenges and the opportunity to play as Julie and explore her world.

American Girl: Julie Finds a Way is proof that some games should probably just stay better in their original intended art form. I'm sure the book has much inspiration and lessons to be learned based on the game. For that reason, it does stink that the game is so technically marred by its slow gameplay, poor framerate, and poor controls.

The camera and movement of your character are so stiff you find yourself getting stuck in the most peculiar places when trying to navigate the environment. This is a shame as the environment, although a bit basic, is truly 3D and it just adds to the atmosphere of what the story of the game is trying to sell you on.

The music is repetitive, but not grating. It can be noticeable, but it isn't that bothersome. You get nice little voice clips from each of the characters, which is kinda cool.

I don't see how the game could ever be a 'masterpiece' per se, but any potential it brings forth is truly damaged by the technical difficulties that mar the game as you try to play through it. For that reason, I'd propose fans of the series stick to the books or possibly any other adaptations that may be the story justice.

American Girl: Julie Finds a Way reeks of a cash in. There's a distinct lack of quality or care put into this title that pretends to "get" the target demographic.
