Still, they're a fresh new twist that really make use of the DS hardware and, along with a good story/dialog, make picking up Again an open-and-shut case for budding crime-solvers with a taste for the unusual. [Apr 2010, p. 89]
  2. This game has a clever premise with gameplay to support it, and even though the story falls way short of its promise, players who go into it with the right expectations will find a lot to like here.
  3. Cing's latest blend of game and novel could've been an intriguing "whodunit" if streamlined into a more digestible package. Instead, the glacial pace of weak plot development and the few poke-around puzzles in between left much to be desired.
  4. Again is a combination of various things, from crime shows to adventure games, but it seemingly takes the bad parts of all of them.
  5. Again is a mediocre game that provides nothing. Its story is nowhere near good enough to justify the interactive novel approach, the "spot the difference" psychic gimmick is miserable and sleep-inducing, and the characters themselves look like they've all escaped from a mental hospital and are playing around in the costume department of a community theater. Hotel Dusk this isn't.

Again is a staggering disappointment in most accounts due to its crawling pace and uninteresting concept.
  7. You're better off reading a book than playing this flawed interactive crime novel.
  8. For all of its criminal procedural trappings, Again is about as exciting as watching Matlock re-runs in a seniors' assisted living facility.

Leaden and clumsy. [June 2010, p.62]

This is a murder mystery game with a couple of interesting twists. You can like see the past and use that to help you with your case. This,This is a murder mystery game with a couple of interesting twists. You can like see the past and use that to help you with your case. This, with the 3d crime scene investigations makes for an interesting concept. The writing, for a visual novel game, is almost so bad it's good and they tried to use stop motion for most of the game. It's just funny to laugh at. Full Review »

An intriguing story and the visual flair are still there but the usual Cing problem of mundane, glued-on gameplay still stands. Again is an excellent murder mystery but one that would work better as a novel rather than an interactive novel. Full Review »
