The lack of a decent camera angle makes fielding a highly frustrating experience. Running under fly balls is not a problem at all. The dilemma is fielding the ground balls.
-
"But there is no joy in Mudville -- Visual Concepts has struck out."
-
This will be Dreamcast's best baseball game ever, but it's just as flawed and full of imperfections as the line-up of PS2 contenders.
-
The retooled pitcher/batter interface has some cool options, yet the defensive controlsthis years big additionare infuriatingly hit-and-miss.
-
The batting interface is one of the best around, but pitching suffers from slow pitch speed. Stat-tracking is much improved, yet far from perfect. It's rich on game modes, while online play so far is a disaster.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyWhat ruined it is that the pitching and fielding are so much slower than real life. [Oct 2001, p.152]
-
Imagine Randy Johnson's unforgiving fastball appearing as slow as a change-up -- or his change-up more lethargic than Oprah after Thanksgiving dinner. Well, unfortunately, now you don't have to.
-
Well, I have good news! This game doesn't suck! But I also have bad news. It's not that much better.

ReginaldS.Aug 22, 2001Even though the game's pitching is slow, the gameplay is still solid and it has at least 100 unique batting stances.
