Senran Kagura Burst's strength is its sheer pace and energy. It's exciting and flashy, and thoroughly entertaining. I haven't enjoyed a brawler this much in a very long time; if only certain writers had given the game a go before dismissing it for something it isn't.

Senran Kagura certainly has its issues - an inconsistent framerate, repetitive missions, and a sketchy, ecchi aesthetic that's likely to turn off as many players as it turns on - but it delivers an intoxicating blend of quick, combo-heavy combat that's an absolute blast to play.

Bouncy, flouncy, and quite a bit of fun, this over-the-top brawler delivers equal measures of fan service and classic brawling gameplay with wanton glee.

Senran Kagura Burst hides a satisfying combat system behind a shameless presentation which would piss any activist for women's rights off. It's Japanese to its very core and somewhat repetitive, still lots of fun.

Behind its protagonists' breasts, there's a game that offers fast and crazy action, and that will deliver entertainment and fun at its core.

If you're not offended by anime girls with ridiculously bouncy watermelon breasts in various stages of undress, there's an enormous game packed with hours of shallow-but-enjoyable narrative, tons of retro-style beat-'em-up fun, and a few guilty pleasures along the way.

I have one major gripe with the game and that's the framerate. The main hub is a stutterfest. Actual gameplay, transformation scenes, dialog sections and the likes are smooth enough to not stick out like the hub, but I have to wonder if they are 30fps.

If you are completely turned off by breasts and buttocks...well, then this game is probably not for you, but otherwise Senran Kagura is a full recommendation.

Framerate is the biggest let down for me, but blame Nintendo for that as well for releasing consoles that are always 5 years behind hardwareFramerate is the biggest let down for me, but blame Nintendo for that as well for releasing consoles that are always 5 years behind hardware wise. Shinovi versus runs at 60fps on Vita without too much trouble and is actually in 3D. This is 2.5D can easily dip into 15fps and is at best locked at 30.

Besides that, you get what you can expect when buying such a game. You don't buy it for the extremely fine plot, just to mindlessly press couple buttons with cute girls (Hibari is best girl) and have
fun
.
