Sep 30, 2015Senran Kagura 2 winks at players with sexual jokes, hot visuals and hentai tropes, but it's actually a very good beat'em up with tons of content and unlockables. Despite its target audience and some issues with controls, there's a lot to enjoy here.
-
Sep 16, 2015Camera and targeting issues aside, Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is a very fun game, especially for fans of the franchise. Both in terms of story and gameplay, it finds a middle ground between Burst and Shinovi Versus.
-
Aug 27, 2015Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is a very competent brawler, with numerous refinements over its predecessor and a lot more content, making it the better game overall, by far.
-
Sep 29, 2015A notable improvement over its predecessor, Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson offers a nice mix of visual novel with intense hack n' slash action, tons of content, great fan-service, AR experiences and online interaction. A great ecchi game.
-
Oct 21, 2015Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson definitely isn’t for everyone. If you’re all for anime eye candy with a lot of combat, then this game is for you. However, it kind of felt like the combat got a little repetitive over time, and the bosses can be either really frustrating if they never let you get a hit in, or rather easy if you can get in multiple combos and power attacks. If you’re into anime-style hack-and-slashers, then this one should be right up your alley.
-
Oct 7, 2015A good action game with admirable script and soundtrack.
-
Nintendo Force MagazineSep 30, 2015As a brawler, Senran Kagura 2 isn't half bad. [Issue #17 – September/October 2015, p.73]
-
Sep 21, 2015Certainly it is aimed squarely at a niche audience, but anyone who can get past that weird cultural quirk that we have in the west where sexytimes are somehow meant to be completely inappropriate in games should find themselves having a grand old time here.
-
Sep 21, 2015Tamsoft has made of Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson a better game that corrects most of the bugs and flaws that its predecessor had, as well as one that offers a lot of content that fans of anime and action (and pervy) games will enjoy. However this doesn't compensate for the facts of its awful camera as well as its repetitiveness that, surely, will make many gamers to pass it.
-
Sep 21, 2015In the end, it really is a game for fans of the series and something of a hard sell for newcomers who can't separate the fan service from the game mechanics.
-
Sep 15, 2015Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is completely aware of what a silly bit of video game fluff it is, and more than happy to own every bit of its exuberant excesses.
-
Sep 15, 2015While not a major step forward overall, Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is still a lot of fun and definitely is worth checking out for any fans of this niche series.
-
Aug 30, 2015Unlike ‘Dead or Alive’ or ‘Lollipop Chainsaw’ the over the top sexualised imagery was no longer simply eye candy to accompany a pretty decent action game, but something which made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
-
Aug 30, 2015Senran Kagura 2 is better than its predecessor in some aspects, but worse in others. In the end, we didn't enjoy this adventure as much as the original one, but if you enjoyed Senran Kagura Burst, we're sure you'll like this one too.
-
Sep 14, 2015In one of the most fan service of series that we have right now, Senran Kagura 2 tries to fix the issues we saw in Burst. And most of the time it's successful in that, but an unreliable camera, poor allies IA and uninspiring combo system are there. A shame, because the use of the 3D is spectacular, the graphics are very good and we have a funny coop and few modes really interesting.
-
Sep 25, 2015It’s a shame that the actual gameplay is so stale and repetitive because Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is polished in many other areas.
-
Sep 4, 2015Whether you're interested or not in the voyeurism the saga offers, the formula is terribly repetitive to keep you interested for long.
-
Aug 28, 2015SENRAN KAGURA 2: Deep Crimson is a reasonably solid fighting game with some decent presentation and consistent performance in 2D, but is hampered by repetitive enemies and uninspired combat mechanics for the most part.
-
Aug 27, 2015Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson continues the use of very visible physical attributes of its female characters to catch the player’s attention but this does not hide a disproportional difficulty curve and changes to the combat system that make it less enjoyable than its predecessor.
-
Nov 17, 2015Overall, Senran Kagura 2 is simply not a very good game. There are plenty of decent ideas, but none of them are anywhere near being developed enough to be worth your time.
-
Oct 7, 2015It's decent in short bursts, but I have a feeling that it will be quickly forgotten once the Vita's upcoming Senran Kagura: Estival Versus hits.
-
Sep 18, 2015Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson knows what it is. It never apologizes for that, I just wish it was a better game.
-
Aug 27, 2015Deep Crimson evolves a number of Tamsoft’s original concepts, while tying everything together in one neat package, but it’s just a shame that the combat system lacks any sort of depth or zest. What’s worse is that it feels as though this stems from the developer’s overriding focus on sexualising its line-up of characters.
-
Oct 4, 2015Anyone who is on the fence about this sort of game, and especially those who don’t find it appealing at all, isn’t going to be swayed by Senran Kagura 2. It’s okay in bursts, but overall its gameplay doesn’t have the entertainment value to distract from its overreliance on sexiness to ensnare players.
-
CD-ActionNov 15, 2015A mediocre, ugly, boring beat ‘em up that has just one selling point – scantily clad girls. [11/2015, p.65]
-
Sep 15, 2015I admire the honesty of Senran Kagura, if nothing else. It knows why it’s here, and it knows why you’re here. It’s all about that sleaze and it doesn’t try to hide it. That, I can admire, even if the game itself is rubbish.
-
Sep 15, 2015Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is a game about girls of indeterminate age exploding out of their shirts. Sometimes there is fighting and usually it's with another girl, but it's mostly about Tamsoft creating excuses to watch gigantic breasts wobble from different angles. If that's your thing, cool, but it's not mine.
-
Nov 15, 2015This game is about breasts. That's it. There really isn't anything deeper to it, not at all. [Issue#167, p.97]
