Dec 4, 2012Scribblenauts Unlimited hones the original open creativity concept, and comes away with a fine-tuned must-have experience.
-
Jan 29, 2013While Unlimited's focus may have moved toward usability, it's still a great game. It doesn't bring wild and crazy innovation, but progress the series nonetheless. By streamlining its process, Unlimited gives players even better ways to lose themselves in a playground of their own creation.
-
Jan 2, 2013It's still one of the more original gaming experiences out there for those willing to try something a little different.
-
Nov 19, 2012I was disappointed to see that the item creation tools of the console version of the game were completely cut for the 3DS, but otherwise this is still a full and worthwhile Scribblenauts installment.
-
Mar 22, 2013Overall, Scribblenauts Unlimited improves upon its predecessors in many ways, yet it still lacks what it takes to make a truly great game out of its awesome idea.
-
Feb 11, 2013While maintaining all the colorful levels and the clever ideas of the Wii U version, Scribblenauts Unlimited on 3DS is in some way tamed by the absence of both the object editor and the Nintendo characters. Still, it’s a little funny game, with lots to explore and to experiment with.
-
Jan 23, 2014This new Scribblenauts adventure retains almost every element we loved from the previous games, but at the same time fails to do something truly new and engaging.
-
Dec 6, 2013Gamers who enjoyed the past Nintendo DS games will find plenty of new content and ideas at play to encourage them back – especially as the extra 3DS development time has brought the features more in-line with the Wii U version.
-
Official Nintendo Magazine UKMar 24, 2013This is undoubtedly a well thought-out handheld port, but it's still slightly lacking for the changes. One for the kids. [March 2013, p.68]
-
Jan 14, 2014Scribblenauts Unlimited on 3DS may not present some of the innovations that we have seen in the Wii U version, but it is still a solid step for the series.
-
Dec 12, 2013Without renewing its formula, Sribblenauts Unlimited remains a satisfying and friendly game for kids. It's a shame the new features from the Wii U version disappeared, though.
-
Feb 6, 2013The game’s limitless options and boundless enthusiasm have never been so impressive, but it’s further away than ever from fulfilling its potential as an actual video game.
-
Nov 29, 2012There's no forward movement that evolves Scribblenauts. This is a collection of craziness, laser sharks, and silly robots all clamoring for happiness, and you can certainly oblige them--but don't expect a real challenge.
