This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game overall is a good game there are good things and bad things lets start with bad 1.The game crashes while a cut-scene is playing or you try to remove elements from your weapon and it gets very annoying the game's plot was spoiled to me because of the encyclopedia no warnings and it gives false information e.e it says a character dies in 1582 which they are still alive after 1615 and it forces you to replay the level depending if you use the interim save which is a quick-save type of thing. Now the positive side of this game, the game is repetitive but in a fun way and this game has a fair amount of level that can last 5 minutes-1 hour and there are ALOT of weapon variety basically it has a very big replay value if you have the money buy this great hack and slash game Expand

With better music & characters than DW8, this game is already better. But, with the addition of character swapping makes walking a thing of the past. Sure the frame-rate can get ungodly low, It still is a good enough game to warrant your money.

Its good value for the money; 130+ hours of content with close to double the stages over the first Chronicles title for the 3DS. Fans of the original game will find the challenge mode nostalgic and less punishing than castle rush. I appreciated the voice acted cut-scenes which were well written and come in original Japanese (haven't checked if English VA is available). ------ Some cons were that difficulty spikes from the get-go. Easy mode is too easy, while normal mode requires some grinding at the very least. Frame-rate drops frequently occur if you do not play on a New 3DS. New weapon acquisition system feels hollow despite the item acquisition feeling functional. I should also note that challenge mode has a point-reward system which really could just have been replaced by the gold in the story mode.

The recipe for the Warriors games almost hasn’t changed for years. And that’s perfectly fine. [10/2015, p.76]

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 sticks to the formula of the series and doesn't go beyond that. Its contents and character exchange mechanism are worthy of praise but it quickly becomes repetitive and the different modes don't show that much difference between them.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 bet on a formula that works, but not yet reached its peak in the Nintendo 3DS.
