Jul 11, 2011Everything in this game smells of calculated recycling and boring gameplay possibilities. Some people might find this attractive based on a few hours play, but you'll be sighing for more content only a short time later. The best thing about it is the included demo of the coming Resident Evil Revelations, and that says it all.

Jul 4, 2011There's no way one can't see Capcom's expedience in this game. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a game mode, sold full price. The experience was tailored to appeal to scoring aesthetes, with a decent challenge for those who want to unlock everything, but the game remains rough and arid for most. With the noticeable exception of the production values and a working multiplayer, the game is a poor one: no story, repetitiveness beyond reason, a level-design based on scavenging previous games, and in very limited numbers... please no more. Resident Evil, as a saga, didn't need such an effort.

Jun 30, 2011If I wanted to play the Mercenaries game mode, why would I pay $40 for this handheld version when I could ostensibly get both Resident Evil 4 and 5 for way less? The gameplay in Mercs 3D has been competently recreated on the handheld, but it's all to recreate an experience that is done (mostly) better and way cheaper on other platforms.

Jun 29, 2011It's hard to shake the feeling that Mercenaries 3D is the slimy result of a Capcom executive meeting titled "What can we get away with this time?"
