This game is definitely for fans. It's events take place throughout multiple "chapters" and each chapter is in reference to a specific event or battle that occurs throughout One Piece history.

Each character is adapted faithfully, and each feel extremely unique and fun to play with.
A ton of side content and minigames to divulge into. Some surprises happen randomly!
Additional characters for the arena conquest including some deserving and surprise characters.

The story requires a decent understanding of events within One Piece to grasp all the dialogue. The main villain is probably my favorite in terms of non-canon villains, and is capable of driving events while remaining an elusive menace. Other new characters are decent and don't become overbearing on the story or other characters. Classic One Piece humor and emotion show throughout.

While I appreciate the direction, I'm definitely eager to see Luffy in a larger environment, and hope that a continuation allows for more freedom and exploration.

Poor camera controls and some repetitive design dampen the experience, and will be harder to swallow for non-fans, but even players who can’t tell a Straw Hat from a straw hat can enjoy the the bright, high-energy action and colourful characters.

    A surprisingly expansive RPG. [Sept 2014, p.81]

From fighting your favorite enemies to building a town from nothing, there’s plenty to do in One Piece Unlimited World Red.
