Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn is essentially a remastered version of Kirby's Epic Yarn, with a few tweaks when it comes to some new moves and the loss of the co-op component. Beyond that, the game remains the same: a very easy effort, which was mostly designed to be used as relaxation, rather than as a challenging, competitive piece of gaming and while it does a very good job at its primary goal, it might be too easy for players looking for something more compelling.

Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn is not that “Extra” after all, but Patch Land is still a place worth visiting.

While Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn lives up to its name in delivering the original experience with something more, it doesn't truly stand out as the biggest and best version of Kirby's fabric-styled adventure.

One of the best Kirby games becomes frayed around the edges on the 3DS, with no co-op mode and some poorly thought out extras that would be better off left out.

Eight years after the original Wii version, this Extra Epic Yarn comes back on the old 3DS console, with a new diabolical mode which brings à tiny bit of challenge to an overall very easy game. Its two new mini-games might be now enough to bring back the players of 2010, especially with a lower frame rate and no 3D effects at all. Still, Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn is a good platformer and might satisfy 3DS owners.

Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn has a great game tucked away inside. But the time that has passed since the original and the extra additions tarnish the experience we fondly remember.

This game looks good and is nice to play but why has this game been released on 3DS? It would have been a better idea to release it on Switch (with coop support).

There's enough on display here that, if you were a big fan of Kirby's Epic Yarn, you could get at least get a couple more hours of entertainment out of it. However, assuming you’re not a big fan, than I would suggest waiting for something with a bit more substance to come out, which should be around Metroid Prime 4’s release.

Kirby is the best video game franchise in history and the series resorts to making games aimed at kids where the characters are made of yarn? Who came up this garbage? The game is way too easy and boring. No fun at all! Full Review »

Finally! A good 3DS Kirby game. (Besides Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot). I'm sorry, but Kirby has gone downhill after Planet Robobot. WeFinally! A good 3DS Kirby game. (Besides Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot). I'm sorry, but Kirby has gone downhill after Planet Robobot. We got the subpar E-shop titles. The mediocre spinoff Battle Royale. There was also Star Allies, which I complained about already for how bland, uninspired, easy, and forgettable I thought the game was. Sadly, the best Kirby game since 2017 is a port of a nearly decade old Wii game. If you were a fan of Epic Yarn, you're gonna love this as it adds "extra" content like a harder mode (great for people who complain about how easy the main game is). Full Review »
