The gyro, the minigames, it all blends wonderfully with the hardware. his is a game that would suffer if ported to anothe system (wii-u for exemple)
    another quick impressions:
-Game's not super easy, It sits at the same level of Dream Land and Dream Land 2 - with much improved gameplay.
-Better than Return to Dream Land on the Wii, better level design and transformations.
-Sound track is amazing with good headphones, lots of bass that doesn't appear on the tiny speakers

If you have a 3DS, I think you should give it a try, it feels very unique on the console... a must-own!

For those looking for the classic Kirby experience Triple Deluxe certainly satisfies. The core gameplay is the same as that we loved and the charm and enjoyment. The Kirby fighters mode was definitely a welcome addition and will hold us over for SSB.

Another installment in one of my favorite franchises of all time that naturally does great as a Kirby game, while bringing new things to the table to make itself unique. If you were on the fence about getting a 3DS all this time for some reason, now is the time to get one.

Also my score is supposed to say 12/10 but this site won't let me go higher.

There are numerous abilities to use throughout the game all of which are fun and have multiple moves allowing for a high replay value to try out certain abilities on certain stages. The puzzles in the game aren't too hard or too easy making it enjoyable for all ages. The use of the tilt mechanic is also used well but perhaps the best feature of the game was the use of the background and foreground. Many stages use both areas to maximize game play value and it does a great job with allowing the player the opportunity to interact with both. Key-chains are a great addition that will have any person who likes to beat the game 100% come back over and over again until they get that perfect number. There are also many Sun Stones to collect and some are easily missed adding a degree of difficulty to the game. The multiplayer is a great deal of fun and is reminiscent of Super Smash Bros which is a good thing seeing how Nintendo is releasing the 3DS title soon. Dedede's Drum mini game is fun and challenging and also adds to the game's replay value. Expand

By the time you reach 50% completion you will begin to break a sweat. All of the keychains you collect offer glimpses into the past Kirby library, and there are hundreds of them to collect, although not necessary. Also, finding the sunstones is fun, but not essential to collect them all (in case you can't figure out some of them). These aspects offer a tonne of replay, and make the game very hard to put down for completists. It's tough to play the game in public because the music is so great you'll crank it full blast, This is also one of the best 3D games visually, the amount of care and detail makes it feel like HD. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Kirby is a series that has been through the blender time and time again. Attempting to come out with something new for this series was extremely hard, especially after classics like Kirby Superstar, Kirby in Dreamland 3 and the fan favourite Crystal Shards. These titles set the impossible bar that titles afterwards needed to meet. With the cult classic hit, Kirby's Air Ride, and the beloved Kirby's Epic Yarn, we possibly saw the end of the pink puff balls career as it was obvious that Return to Dreamland didn't quench the thirst at all and was just an even more generic Kirby. This being said, how does Kirby Triple Deluxe hold up in the mix of newer additions?

Kirby Triple Deluxe is everything you expect from a Kirby game. You jump, you suck up enemies, you go through linear worlds that are often alliterations of candy or pastries. The story again is a little bit different from Kirby games of the past. When I say little...its literally the smallest touch. Kirby goes off to save another race, much like Crystal Shards. This time though its Dedede that you want to save? I felt this was an interesting but ultimately awkward choice for the series. Dedede is considered Kirby's arch-rival in the Kirby franchise, but Kirby being the nice puff ball that he is needs to rescue him. Just doesn't flow as nicely as it did with Dedede fighting alongside you as Crystal Shards, but again this is minor criticism. In a Kirby game you expect linear, and heck, it gives you that.

With the linear plot aside, let's talk game mechanics. This is possibly the best Kirby's felt in a long time, if not the best its felt. The flow is brilliant and feels exactly like the previous installments with the obvious touch-ups that allow heavy functionality. New abilities are weird but fun and unique, the stages hold to a design really well and are probably the best thought out Kirby stages gimmick wise in the whole franchise. Just take a look at that Circus stage, that stage is definitely one of the most recognized stages in this game and it shows. The best utilization in this Kirby game is the 3D. This adds a whole different dimension to gameplay and makes it feel so much more alive. This is mostly used in boss battles as the bosses often utilize the 3D in their attacks. This may cause a disconnect for the time of attacks for people playing it in 2D. That being said, this feels like I'm playing the best components of past games, with no issues.

Jun Ishikawa and Hirokazu Ando knew what they were doing when they made this OST. It screams new-age Kirby while also pandering to the older feel of the series. This was a smart choice in their parts to play to both audiences while creating a very atmospheric piece. Each piece fits perfectly with the stage paired with it, and that final boss music is to die for! Truly makes battling it worth it. Along with the OST, the visuals are equally up to par. Much like its predecessor, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, the style of Kirby and its graphics are exactly the same. The designs of the bosses and stages though are the biggest difference. While Return to Dreamland had a more minimalist approach with its design, Triple Deluxe truly reinvents the Kirby feel. The designs of stages are more memorable and the designs of the bosses are more intricate and don't feel as generic as they use to be. Take Flowery Woods for example, this is a textbook Kirby boss with a complete overhaul making it more vibrant. This game took the aesthetics of the past and easily came into its own.

Even though I didn't touch base on the mini-games involved such as Dedede's Drum Dash, and Kirby Fighters, I felt as if those deserved their own review if done since they are technically their own games in their own right and available separately. That being said, the modes in Kirby are the same we come to expect in any Kirby game. There is the Adventure mode, which runs you through the main story. There is movie mode, which allows you to watch the little cutscenes placed in a Kirby game. The mini-games which are always a great time waster. Of course ending it off with a tournament of all the bosses in the game.

This game was the Kirby game we have been hoping for in order to revive the Kirby franchise. Despite an overly linear story and pathway to the goal, this was to expected. What was meant to wow us was the brilliant visuals and designs, the grandiose OST, and the amazing feel of the gameplay. How does this one hold up to the rest of the Kirby greats? Well just turn up that 3D setting and take Kirby Triple Deluxe for a whirl and try it out for yourself!

If you love Kirby, you will love this game, you will also love the game if you love platformers, but should you get a 3DS for this game, well not if it’s your only reason, if you have another game in mind as well then that’s a yes. Stages are long and well designed, with many things to do and some hard to find secrets. The game keeps on surprising you with new themes and mechanics in stages until the very end, and that's cool and something not every game accomplishes. As in every Kirby game, don't expect much challenge to beat the game, the story mode, but actually getting the 100% completion rate is hard! It has a few challenging keychains to find, and it has some tough additional modes.

Graphics look really nice on a 3DS, the game is colorful and full of joy, as you'd expect from a Kirby game. And music is also really nice,

The only negative aspect I have seen is the Hypernova ability. Don't get me wrong, it's ok, but stages that use it are quite slow-paced and the ability is a bit overpowered. I preferred stages that didn't use this ability, but well, it's not that bad.

All in all, an amazing 3DS title every user of the console must buy, especially due to its low price as it is a Nintendo Selects game!

A good way to ease a Smash appetite a bit until the actual game comes out. You've got unlockable modes that provide some more remix of the main game experience, and extra harder boss rush. Plenty of keychains to collect and enjoyable enough I can see myself replaying it. the MUSIC IS AWESOME. It's also the best looking game on the 3DS hands down. It's lush, uses the 3D amazingly, and with the added layers, really enhances some of the exploration and collection. Kirby games are entry level titles but after 22 years, it's easy to see why he still appeals to so many, young and old.

The Kirby franchise's mission is that it's completion be accomplished by anyone. It's was to be a great entry level title in an era of really brutal and often non-welcoming NES and gameboy titles. It was pretty revolutionary at the time. However players of all skill levels have enjoyed the series immensely. Kirby games manage to be engaging regardless of their ease for many people. Their charming worlds, the fun and quirky nature of Kirby's powers, and the high quality of it's visuals and music make gamers happy. Kirby really helped me enjoy gaming as a kid. At the time I felt Dreamland was a lot longer and harder than it actually was. Now I can beat the original in 5 minutes top. Still it gave me the confidence to play more single player games on my own. Now I'm a Monster Hunter fanatic and have played a slew of much harder titles, but I still adore the pink puff ball. As a huge fan, I'd say Kirby's Triple Deluxe is amongst my favorite Kirby games. It stand tall and proud beside the Kirby Super Star classic, in my heart.

Although the game's main story might be too short, (around 7-8 hours collecting all sun stones) the other game modes make the game even longer and worth it, such as Dedede Tour, where you play all 6 Worlds in a short amount of time as King Dedede, and a boss rush mode. Kirby Fighters is a fun diversion where you get to choose one of 10 powerups and duke it out with other Kirby's. You can play a single-player esque campaign or play with your friends, local or download play. Dedede's Drum Dash is a really tricky minigame that has you controlling King Dedede bouncing to the rhythm. It is awkward to control, but the music is great though. Speaking of music, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing, with the boss themes being standout examples. The bosses in this game are outstandingly creative, with Flowery Woods, the first boss in the game, giving a really good impression. Everyone's favorite pink blob finally arrives on the 3DS and, for better or worse, his game is exactly what one would expect.

In Triple Deluxe, you'll control Kirby as he swallows foes and gains abilities, defeating scary bosses and solving puzzles that start simple and get progressively harder. Each stage holds a number of sun stones, the game's main collectible, and a number of them is needed to access boss stages. There are also hidden keychains, themed after Kirby games of yore, which get neatly displayed in a gallery once found. All in all, there's a bit of a "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" mentality permeating all of the gameplay, which means that it's hard to avoid feeling a sense of déjà-vu. It's pleasant as always, but unlikely to provide "wow" moments.

Triple Deluxe's one new feature of note is called hypernova. By eating a miracle fruit, Kirby becomes able to swallow objects of humongous sizes, which is goofy good fun. This way, he can solve puzzles in interesting new ways, even if the abundance of cutscene-like moments of gameplay means the new ability overstays its welcome in some stages. For example: if you need Kirby to swallow an enormous tree, all you need to do is press the button, and then be treated with an animation that last several seconds, without the need of further controller input. These animations start out as a curious little novelty, but it doesn't take long to realise these moments could be even better spent by actually controlling Kirby.

Aside from that, there are a couple extra game modes: Kirby Fighters is a fun but watered down Smash Bros clone, while Dedede's Drum Dash is a rhythm-based game that is unlikely to hold your attention for long.

Like most Kirby games, Triple Deluxe is good light-hearted fun, and an excellent way for younger or less experienced gamers to get their gaming fix, due to the intuitiveness of the controls and the ease of avoiding platforming traps (thanks to Kirby's flight). It also, well, features Kirby, which is reason enough to give any game a chance. Still, it really doesn't do much to differentiate itself from the plethora of Kirby games we got before, making it unlikely that this one will become a classic.

Fantastic addition to the Kirby collection. Kirby is back and ready for fun, the 3D is awesome on Triple Deluxe. This game can be enjoyed by all ages and by all types of gamers. Kirby can do it all, Kirby can be easy or hard, and Triple Deluxe has something for everyone. This is one of the best games on the 3DS, cant wait for more.

Although the key-chains and hearts show that the dev's hearts were in the wrong place, the engine's easy and slow game-play really makes it a Kirby game no where near as good as amazing mirror, superstar, or the original dreamland series.

One of the best Kirby games. A great 2.5D platformer, with great production values. One of the best games on the 3DS, it deserved a much better metacritic score. Underrated.

It is not challenging by any means, but it is fun and relaxing. Totally worth it if you are a fan of platform games and/or Kirby.

The collectibles were very easy to find 95% of the time which I do not like. +Gameplay is more like Kirby Super Star featuring the return of the guard/defend ability, the health bar and the capability of keeping a ability after being hit (takes a few hits to lose ability)
+New mini games included out of the main game such as Kirby Fighters which allow you to play as Kirby with a special ability and fight against other Kirbys ala Super Smash Bros style - there's also a Dedede music Rhythm game as well.
+The Arena mode returns which allows you to fight bosses back to back

This is a really good game. It's classic Kirby with a lot of new things, and the gameplay still holds up after three years. My only problem is that I can't remap the buttons. I wasn't really liking the controls that much, but once you get used to it, it's okay. I just think button B should be jump, and button Y should be action.

SHORT VERSION: A fun and simple platformer. Perfect if you want to feel relaxed.

Before I had gotten my 3DS, I honestly didn't have a strong interest in video games. Most of the games I've played on it are usually the first ones I've played of their respective series. Kirby: Triple Deluxe is no exception, it's my first Kirby. I heard that Kirby games are usually simple and not to challenging, so I purposely went in to this one expecting to feel relaxed.

GAME-PLAY: Yep, it's definitely simple. Kirby goes through stage by platforming and consuming his enemies. There isn't to much to it besides that, it's a simple platformer that manages to be fun without being to challenging. You can consume enemies to get power ups. Even thought you're often more then capable of going through the stage without using any, the power ups are just really fun to use any ways.

The game also features bosses, usually at the end of a world. They aren't that hard, but, again, they're still fun to fight. I will say this, though. Without spoiling anything, the final boss is actually surprisingly challenging. Not outright extremely difficult, but challenging enough where you might lose a life or two.

FINAL THOUGHTS: I went in expecting a simple relaxing experience, and that's what I got (for the most part). But even with the relaxing difficulty of the stages, the final boss really surprised me with the added challenge it brought. If you're going to get this game, just keep in mind that it isn't difficult and it isn't trying to be. This is the kind of game you play to unwind and have simple fun.

The art in this game is gorgeous with the music doing a great job setting a fun and bizarre tone for the game. My only complaint is that the many combat abilities that Kirby has in this game are more for visual appeal, and aren't necessary in completing the levels; there were few instances where a power up actually made boss battles easier. As a side note, the first half of the game has a very casual difficulty level; however, the second half offers an enjoyable challenge with very unique and exciting boss battles. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. story mode: overall a pretty good story mode for kirby, the new abilities are nice (except circus), the level design while easy is still engaging, and the bosses, once again, while easy are still fun. the only blemish here is hypernova, a glorified cutscene that is never fun and makes the levels take one million years to finish, otherwise its a kirby game aka good
kirby fighters: pretty fun on the higher difficulty settings, though its annoying playing every single ability for 100%
dedede drum dash: i hated it until i realized i didnt actually have to do well on the final level and just had to beat it, its really hard and i thought i was pretty good at rhythm games
dededetour!: this is just a speedrun thing that kirby games tend to include. i dont really like it compared to the extra mode of return to dream land, which is the same thing in concept but at your own pace and much more fun and challenging, the secret bosses are cool though and i like the shortcut mechanic too
the arena: its a boss rush, nothing special
the true arena: this is one of the easier true arenas id say, its pretty challenging though as youd expect on regard that the bosses tend to stall for awhile in periods where you cant hit them plus sectonias first phase has bottomless pits that can take your ability away and ruin your chances of winning. dark meta knight is basically the true final boss here as hes the only one who actually responds to your movements and tries to not get hit basically making his purpose be to get rid of all your health before sectonia

overall this isnt the best kirby game but its still up there and its worth playing aka its fun
