    A good fan game, with a enchanting presentation if you a fan of Miku. However, if you are looking for a challenge, or a more eclectic music list, you will be better served with Project Diva.

    Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX is a cute and entertaining rhythm game designed for new players who don't have enough confidence with Miku, Vocaloids and music-based challenges. The difficulty level is pretty loose, and veteran players will be able to unlock everything in a blink of an eye.

    Project Mirai DX exists as a vector to push this sentiment out of your 3DS. The rhythm action is routine and the slice-of-life elements are an exercise in gratuity, but there's no denying the infectious charm endemic to all things Hatsune Miku.

    It’s really quite nice. Completely inoffensive rhythm-based fun. At the very least, it’s something your kids will dig, if you happen to own any of those little freaks.

    This is a cutesy game with pretty much an entire Japanese soundtrack and theme. If you’re into this type of game, then you’ll enjoy it. If you’re not, then you won’t.

    It’s pretty decent, and acts as an overall solid choice for any rhythm game player. Unfortunately, while perfectly serviceable, it’s not nearly as good as the other Western-released series games in any way – other than minor non-rhythm game side content.

    Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX retains the essence of the Project DIVA series, but it's definitely its own unique thing. It may not appeal to all fans of the vocaloid songstress' previous work, and it's certainly my least favorite outing of hers in the realm of games.

Alongside with the imaginative graphics, the audio quality is also amazing, the combination makes the game even more enjoyable to play.

    It features 48 top hits from Hatsune Miku and other vocaloid characters. If you are a new fan and want to know more about them, this would be a good starting point. You won’t be disappointed as there is a good range of genre of songs for you to select.

    There are two ways to play the game: button presses or stylus taps, each mode feels completely distinct from the other. Notes flow along a line and players must try to time their taps with the moment the circle hits each note (the closer you are to perfect, the more points you'll get), to keep their note combo going. One thing that stands out in this music gameplay is the note paths themselves. Rather than proceeding in a straight line, the notes in each song follow a bespoke path that's combines well with the music and video behind it. There are three difficulty levels, from easy to hard, for players to choose the right one that suits their own ability. Though some people may still find it quite easy to play compared to the Project Diva one, for example. Therefore if you are master at rhythm games, you may wish to play other related Hatsune Miku rhythm games for challenges.

    There are music videos behind these beats when you are playing the game, they are impressive spectacles. Since you won't be able to admire these videos while you're playing, there's a handy Theatre mode that lets you watch the video of any song you've cleared at your leisure. However, the only downside is that while you are playing the game, the videos may be quite distractive in the background and sometimes it is hard to totally focus on the gameplay.

    The game also includes extra features that allows players to be kept entertained and enjoyed alongside the main gameplay. For instance, there is the “My room” component which allows you to select from several apartment styles. You can buy furniture and fun items to decorate using Mirai points that were earned through the rhythm game. Another thing is to dress-up your volcaloid by purchasing outfits with Mirai points, you can also mix and match hairstyles and clothing too. Most of these are costumes worn by the characters in music videos, but there are also several based on figure designs and a few special ensembles to unlock, with lots of creative designs. And there are more fun for you to explore yourself.

    In conclusion, it is an addictive game with charming presentation, and there's no shortage of activities to keep you happily busy between songs. I definitely would recommend it to any rhythm game fans.    … Full Review »

    I am a casual music game enthusiast but I highly enjoy the music and the gameplay is still familiar to Theatrhythm Final Fantasy with the MikuI am a casual music game enthusiast but I highly enjoy the music and the gameplay is still familiar to Theatrhythm Final Fantasy with the Miku chibi look.The music is all really upbeat and enjoyable to play with a nice diverse list of music and a long playlist.

    The gameplay has two options between using touch controls with the stylus and then traditional d-pad and face buttons used. I tried playing with both options for all the songs and once you get to normal mode for Touch Controls you will want to switch to button controls just because it is a bit imprecise and harder to hold your 3DS possibly.

    I did find the difficulty of the game to be easier then other Miku rhythm games such as Project Diva F and F 2nd being much more difficult on the harder difficulty. This is a fun game though all in all.

    If you enjoy music from Vocaloids and predominately Hatsune Miku and can enjoy the Chibi look with a more relaxed and fun music selection with a ton of extra's like a mini dating sim, puyo puyo game and other extras which honestly did not play with as really enjoying the game for the main rhythm game.    … Full Review »

    While not much different from the PS3 and Vita games, Project Mirai DX still offers plenty for 3DS owners who have never played a Hatsune MikuWhile not much different from the PS3 and Vita games, Project Mirai DX still offers plenty for 3DS owners who have never played a Hatsune Miku game or anyone that is already a fan. This game contains 48 songs, which is 8 more songs than what Project Diva f2 has, and I found most of the songs to be quite catchy and enjoyable. The gameplay is still fast paced and quite challenging, though I feel it is a bit easier than the Project Diva games. I'd also like to point out that the 3D in this game is quite impressive, and the colorful graphics and quirky 'dreamscapes' are really cute and imaginative. Overall, a great rhythm game for any Hatsune Miku fan, or anyone looking for a fun, challenging time-passer on the 3DS.… Full Review »
