Disney's Magical World is a pretty decent pick up for anyone burned out on Animal Crossing. The gameplay styles differ enough to make them stand out as two separate titles, but Magical World has a slight leg up on the competition.

Disney Magical Life may seem like it follows the path of other similar games but it creates its own personality as it grows. It’s always a joy to see the most memorable Disney characters in an interactive form and the exquisite way they are portrayed only adds to the game’s appeal.

Disney Magical World is a simple variation of the popular formula born with Animal Crossing. It’s simple game design and the lack of real objective transform this project into a game for a very young audience. That’s not bad, actually, but games such as Animal Crossing and Fantasy Life works in a better way, creating a solid bond between young and adult players.

For more seasoned gamers, Disney Magical World might be a pleasant surprise. For kids, it could feel genuinely magical.

Just like Disneyland, such a collection of entertaining attractions filled with fan service will delight children, but the repetitiveness of those activities and the lack of narrative reveal this magical world's superficial nature, even more obvious to the grown-ups, unless they still enjoy wearing ear hats.

If you have a child or a friend who loves Disney and just can't get into simulators, this is their gateway, but I have a feeling that a lot of hardcore fans won't really get their money's worth.

Disney Magical World is a fun romp with a plethora of objectives to complete and items to create, but by the time you find yourself running across the same stretch of land for the umpteenth time to gather more items for that next quest, the magic starts to fade.

Animal Crossing + Harvest Moon + Disney... it should be great, but it doesn't really work. There's a lot of content, though.

Worth a few hours of uncynical fun. [Christmas 2014, p.92]

Disney Magical World resembles Animal Crossing in many ways. There exists some important differences though. Everyone is welcome to the Disney world, but at the same time it's a very superficial world. A big game mechanic is to gain as much compliments for your outfits as possible, for example. The lack of complex gameplay probably won't entertain restless players but as therapy it's definitely adequate.

Disney Magical World is a pretty average game due to a quite limited content in spite of a very wide Disney universe. Meant to be played by the youngest of gamers, it is very easy to handle but the low grade graphics won't impress the youth.

This is My First RPG for a new generation of gamers, one that spells things out, repeats everything as many times as needed, and generally waits patiently as you scour the map for the one thing you need to move forward.

If we compare Disney Magical World to AC: New Leaf, Tomodachi Life and Fantasy Life, it is the simplest, least complex and least surprising game of them all.

The world that Walt Disney shaped really comes to life in this cutesy 3DS-game. Though there is lots of content to play through, the framerate is bad and there is not enough challenge to make this game really worth while.

The game employs a nebulous, cyclical system of loot hording and domestication that's so predictable as to become a stale science rather than the ample helping of true-to-its-title magic it requires to flourish.

It has some very sweet moments not to mention that it's really fun to see your Mii interacting with Disney characters and lands. Full Review »
