Aug 15, 2016The tools on offer may not be of the highest fidelity thanks to outdated hardware, but they are intelligently crafted to be more than adequate for exploring creativity or sparking a love of art.
-
Jul 18, 2016It's not a game per se, more a virtual course to learn people paint and draw many Pixar and Disney characters. It is remarkable how quickly you can draw a pretty convincing drawing.
-
May 27, 2016I’ve only spent a couple of hours with Disney Art Academy, but I was pleased with the quality of a Chip – or was it Dale? – drawing I was able to produce completely from scratch following instructions.

Jul 19, 2016Disney Art Academy's biggest charm, in contrast to earlier parts in the series, is its familiar characters. It's actually more fun to learn how to perfectly depict Mickey Mouse's ears rather than painting some boring still lifes. There's much they could have done better, more layers and less story for example, but all in all it's a software that's perfect for the beginner whose dream is to become the next Carl Barks or perhaps a way for parents to get their kids interested in creating art.

Nintendo Force MagazineJul 11, 2016Disney Art Academy is the kind of tool that parents could use to see if their kids have any real interest in art. [Issue #22 – July/August 2016, p.76]
-
May 24, 2016Ultimately, Disney Art Academy does exactly what it promises to do on the back of the box. It doesn’t do much more than teaching you how to draw some of Disney’s most memorable characters, but that’s fine.
-
Aug 1, 2016Disney Art Academy lets younger gamers become a virtual artist with their favourite worlds!
-
Jul 27, 2016Of course, Disney Art Academy is not an adequate substitution for actual art courses, and the software is not an adequate alternative to graphics tablets and professional art solutions on PCs or Macs. But what it’s remarkably good at doing is making you feel good about your artistic talents, no matter how limited those might be, and then encouraging you to continue learning a hobby that you may just discover that you enjoy without ever considering it previously.
-
Jul 21, 2016This Disney version of Art Academy is a nice one, even if it's complicated to be precise enough with the stylus.
-
Jul 17, 2016I couldn’t help but feel children would be in the opposite camp, challenged by the colouring-in work they’d be presented but bewildered by phrases thrown around in a real world art school.
-
Jul 15, 2016Disney Art Academy is a pleasant drawing tool that will surely appeal to a younger audience who recognizes the characters immediately. While the lessons do not go too much in-depth, they are well structured and the possibility of copying the works to the SD card will let the players' drawings be remembered for posterity.
-
May 17, 2016Simple but functional, with rich lessons and a lot of contents this new entry on Art Academy series will be an enjoyable drawing activity for Disney fans and a young audience.
-
May 13, 2016The latest Art Academy title arrives, throwing in the ability to draw iconic Disney characters. It’s a solid and soothing way to kill time, but is a little basic in its delivery.
-
Jul 22, 2016Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jul 12, 2016Disney Art Academy lets you draw your favourite Disney characters. Not much else is to be said about the game. It's a game about drawing.
-
May 11, 2016Disney Art Academy has a rather involved and in-depth toolset, but its slow pace may bore people who give it a chance. Kids who love to draw and would relish the opportunity to learn how to sketch Disney/Pixar characters while on the go, will surely find it of interest, though.
