Dec 2, 2015Dementium Remastered is a great addition to the eShop, and shows the higher polished side of things that are available on it. The game packs quite a punch in terms of presentation, and the gameplay is mostly there to match it. If you are a fan of horror games or FPS games, then this is a game that you should check out this holiday season.

Dec 23, 2015Outside of some obnoxious boss battles, this is a great game from a continuously creative developer.

Dec 3, 2015The game’s central issue is that, frustratingly, the hallways and offices of the asylum all look the same, with not even a change in wallpaper color from one floor to the next. You can get turned around very easily, and one wonders how many closets one hospital needs.

Feb 17, 2016As much as I enjoyed Dementium, it is relatively short (clocking in at around 4-5 hours), only supports a single save file and features no other game modes outside of the difficulty options. Having said that, it was very refreshing to play a solid horror title on the 3DS and I’ll definitely be picking it up for another play through at some point in the future.

Dec 11, 2015It looks good and sounds creepy and unsettling and though Renegade Kid has tweaked the gameplay and systems to make it friendlier, Dementium Remastered is still a victim of some awkward controls, borderline bland level design and an overall feeling of repetition.
-
Dec 2, 2015While the Nintendo 3DS isn't the best platform for horror games, Dementium Remastered is a smartly designed romp that still manages to instill fear in players. Even if it only lasts for a few terrifying hours.
-
Dec 2, 2015For $14.99, Dementium Remastered is a bit steep for a game that is pretty short and has very little replay value.
-
Nov 29, 2015Still, if you can endure its quirks Dementium Remastered is a strong horror shooter on the system, with fun combat and a tense atmosphere combining well.
-
Apr 4, 2016Dementium Remastered has all the technical qualities to be a good remake...except being an outstanding game. While the visual and audio environments are competent and well implemented, the game loses most of its appeal compared to the original and ends up as a generic title that brings nothing significant to the 3DS library.
-
Mar 15, 2016The game doesn’t stand up especially well by itself, and the Remaster has only addressed the superficial issues with the DS original.
-
Nintendo Force MagazineFeb 4, 2016Dementium was a revelation on DS in 2007, but it just hasn't aged as well as we might have hoped. [Issue #19 – January/February 2016, p.25]
-
Dec 23, 2015Dementium is not unforgivably bad. It’s just excruciatingly mundane, and so very unoriginal. I wish it wasn’t that way, as I would love to see great horror on the 3DS...Dementium Remastered is not, however, great horror on the 3DS, and it would be more honest to call it Dementium Regurgitated.
-
Dec 2, 2015If you're hoping for a story at all, you'll be disappointed. The opening just drops you right into a mental ward without much of any information, and barely anything gets revealed throughout the story. The ending was the rotten cherry on top that just screams directly into your face "find out what happens next in the sequel."...No thanks. Fuck that. That is two and a half hours of my life I'll never get back.
