  • Summary: Defend Your Crypt is a strategy and puzzle game, in which we will have to avoid to lose our treasure by the tomb thieves. We, as the Pharaoh, can use different traps to defeat those damn ambitious humans who are profaning your tomb.

    Retro style:
    Like many of our games, Defend Your Crypt will have retro pixel art. In addition, we will lean toward
    Egyptian style.
    Trap variety:
    The game will contain classic traps such as open platforms, which can make robbers fall onto spikes, and also water traps or killer scorpions and beetles.

    Gore:
    In Ratalaika Games, we know you like blood, so we have included it. A lot of it. Killing the robbers won't be enough.
    "If it bleeds, we can kill it", and were taking it to the limit. (If you don't like blood, you can deactivate it :P)

    Levels:
    A large number of levels to make sure the robbers will not steal any of your gold, and you enjoy the game to the fullest.

    It is disappointing that the game wasn't shooting for anything grander. In its current state, I only saw myself playing short sessions before moving on to other games. All in all, I would recommend it more if you want to play it on the Nintendo 3DS. That is where the game shines the most.

    Defend Your Crypt is a puzzle/strategy game that, even though it is not a game meant for everyone, those who like challenging games will enjoy a lot of hours of gameplay fighting the intruders of the pyramid.

    In a fair, yet plausible attempt to establish which kind of audience Defend Your Crypt seems targeted at - or more appropriate to recommend to - it's honestly quite difficult to go beyond those who want to try every single decent-to-good puzzle game available on their 3DS systems. The inherent simplicity of its core mechanics is at the same time a quality and a limit, and while it's perfect for short bursts - making the 3DS its ideal home - monotony lurks in the depths of this crypt during more prolonged play sessions.

    Defend your crypt is a fun little tower defense game. It's strong points are the challenging difficulty and the fast and hectic play style.Defend your crypt is a fun little tower defense game. Together with the retro looks, theme and humor it will keep you entertained for at least a couple of hours so it's good value. The 3ds version is extremely well suited for the multi-level play style.
    Sadly the lack of depth which could have been accomplished by an upgrade system or the ability to allocate traps keeps this title from greatness. Some added features would definitely expand the lifespan of the game.
    Conclusion: worth picking up considering the low price and addictive gameplay. Hoping for some extra depth in Defend Your Crypt 2!    … Expand
