Crashmo

Despite the fact that it came out last year, Pushmo was going to be on my Game of the Year list for this year. After all, I barely played it last year, and that's all the matters. Now that Crashmo is out, though, which features not only better gameplay and production values, but also a better NAME, I'm happy to place it in the position that Pushmo had been occupying in my list before-and probably in an even higher position.

The puzzles are clever and addictive, and the new sliding mechanic, new gadgets and updated camera controls do a bang-up job of making this experience feel fresh and distinct. This game is a must download for any 3DS owner, especially fans of the puzzle genre.

Crashmo is a natural extension of the concepts introduced by Pushmo. Sure, it gets much harder much faster than Pushmo, but it does so much more with less that it easily surpasses the achievements of its predecessor.

Crashmo is a brilliant puzzle game, full of unique mechanics and a slew of puzzles that will have you coming back for more, as long as you can deal with the demanding difficulty from the start.

The sequel to one of the most intelligent and addictive eShop games dares to innovate: it's incredible how a little, simple new feature can so inherently change the nature of the puzzles, and this alone is a great achievement. Fallblox may be a little less "perfect" than Pullblox, but remains a great game and it's fundamentally different and new.

One of the best IPs Nintendo has done recently. It's fresh, clever and challenging and the only thing we could ask for is a "Rotblox" where we can 'rotate' the pieces!

Crashmo is pure puzzling gold and one of the best titles available for 3DS. If you haven't already experienced the exquisite Pushmo, now couldn't be a better time to get on board the Crashmo express.

It manages to further refine a lot of what was already made with its predecessor, and any fan of the genre should give it a try. However, it cannot be stressed enough that one should play Pullblox as well.

Crashmo, like Pushmo before it, is a near-perfect title for the 3DS. The new mechanics feel like a natural evolution for the series and provide some depth to even the simplest of levels.

Fallblox is one of the best puzzle game on the Nintendo e-shop. Smart, crazy and funny beyond today's borders.

With its simple mechanics and unforgiving difficulty, Crashmo is the new standard bearer for Nintendo's legacy of excellent handheld puzzle games.

Crashmo is a worthy successor to last year's wonderful puzzler Pushmo. With a similar style from the outside, Crashmo's small gameplay tweaks lead to entirely different styles of puzzles and problem solving. With more puzzles built into the game than its predecessor and hundreds more to come from user-created puzzles, Crashmo is worth your money, even if it is $2 more than its predecessor. Crashmo's difficulty and more abstracted play style may turn off some Pushmo veterans who crave more structure in their block puzzles. However, with refined gameplay and a wealth of content, the new game in the young series is still one of the best games on the 3DS eShop.

Although it's more difficult than its predecessor, there's plenty to love about Crashmo, from its wealth of puzzles to its cheery graphics and near limitless editing potential. A satisfying follow-up, this game belongs on every 3DS owner's system.

Mallo's second outing is another massive success; Fallblox constantly surprises, impresses and challenges in equal measures. Even in its difficult moments – and there are plenty – it encourages players to have fun and never significantly punishes errors. Fallblox boasts level design and creativity that many games can only dream of; developer Intelligent Systems' name has never seemed more appropriate.

If Pullblox was the game that pulled you into the series, Fallblox is the game to make you fall in love with it. Awe-inspiring.

Crashmo is a fine example of what a talented developer can do with a solid gameplay mechanic. It's also a great argument for separating business from play.

A solid follow-up to one of the best eShop games. It's obviously not quite as revolutionary as its predecessor and the new freedom it gives may put off some people but it's another impressive puzzler.

Builds slightly messier puzzles on the Pullblox's simple foundations, but still manages to deliver hours of outstanding spatial conundrums. Easily one of eShop's best.

Fallblox is an amazing puzzle game that can be bought for a few Euros in the eShop. But beware: it's not a game for the inexperienced puzzles. The challenges can often get extremely hard, which makes it all the more satisfying when you solve them.

Crashmo improves on Pushmo's formula in every way, but I have a nebulous complaint: For some reason Crashmo doesn't inspire that "just one more" desire in me that I expect in puzzle games.

A charming adventure that'll provide your brain plenty of entertainment as it's tasked with solving-and then creating-a wide array of colorful block-based 3D spatial puzzles.

Intelligent Systems wears its name with pride: The puzzles are as elegant as they are tricky. Fallblox is a small but enthralling addition to the 3DS download library.

Even though it’s unassumingly tucked away in the 3DS‘ eShop, Fallblox is frankly a great little game.

So, after breaking and reassembling everything, what's left? Another hit from Intelligent Systems, which again leaves the comfort zone and give us something different and complex, but at the same time friendly and inviting.

It loses some of the novelty factor included in the first game, but it still is a game of reference and a warm offer on eShop, especially this holiday season.

Crashmo is a really good game, but I didn't like it quite as much as Pushmo. I'm not sure if the reason for that lies within me, or the game itself, but I felt far less compelled to go back to each puzzle this time around...But Crashmo is still a hell of a puzzle game, and if you're more inspired than intimidated by a challenge, I can see no reason why you shouldn't snap this game up now.

Fallblox is an intoxicating blend of the familiar and the new, every bit as essential as Pullblox, and a further reminder that Intelligent Systems remains one of the most aptly named developers in the business.

The design team has crafted a playful, ingenious, and admirably economical experience composed of dozens of satisfying moments. It's a game about tidying up, finding order, and making a pocket-sized universe behave the way you want it to.

The difficulty may escalate faster than you'd prefer, but Crashmo is still an absorbing diversion for your 3DS. Like the best downloadables, it can be played for 10 minutes or two hours, satisfying players no matter how much they choose to invest.
