  • Summary: Adventure Labyrinth Story is a rogue-like RPG that challenges you to tackle an unknown dungeon. To bring back the legendary treasure, you’ll need to enter the depths of the dungeon, find weapons and shields, and use magic rods and potions to fight against monsters and raise your level.

    Each    Adventure Labyrinth Story is a rogue-like RPG that challenges you to tackle an unknown dungeon. To bring back the legendary treasure, you’ll need to enter the depths of the dungeon, find weapons and shields, and use magic rods and potions to fight against monsters and raise your level.

    Each time you enter the dungeon, its structure changes along with the items and monsters within it. You can challenge the dungeon again and again, even if you’ve already cleared it. If you’re defeated, the items you obtain will all be lost, and your level will be reset to 1.

    The ingredients you collect from the dungeon can be cooked in the bar to make food, granting positive effects and EXP for the next adventure. Use all sorts of items to deal with the monsters, find rare treasures and reveal the mystery of the labyrinth!    … Expand

    A perfectly passable, prototypical roguelike RPG, Adventure Labyrinth Story is a decently diverting game that's happy to entertain without leaving a lasting impression.

    The genre has been able to tap into this to make it the core feature, and while we’ve seen better and more creative applications of that feature in the past, Adventure Bar Labyrinth is a solid, vanilla, example of that appeal.

    Adventure Labyrinth Story is a competent dungeon crawler with a simple combat system and a healthy variety of enemies. However its overtly simple narrative, linear goals and overall subpar visual environments make this a game that doesn't stand out among its peers, even if it's competent enough when putting the player in randomly generated mazes.

    The all-important battle system in Adventure Labyrinth Story is solid, but features such as a pointless story taint the game and leave it marred in mediocracy. Repeating the same dungeon over and over can feel a bit stale, although the randomised items and layout definitely help.

    The core gameplay of Adventure Labyrinth Story is tried and true. Explore dungeons, pick up items, and use those items to outsmart, outmaneuver and/or overpower your enemies. Where this game can fall flat is in it's presentation. The Graphics are fine but the animations leave much to be desired, and the soundtrack is forgettable. The titular Labyrinth's terrain generation is subpar, with floors often consisting of a few tiny rooms connected by absurdly long hallways.
    Adventure Labyrinth Story is also a bit on the easy side for a roguelike. Some items and money are retained upon defeat. This hardly mattered, as the town's shop has an abundance of Books of Escape, which allow you to flee the dungeon and keep all your items and money.

    It may not be quite as pretty or as punishing as it's peers, but Adventure Labyrinth Story is good enough to scratch a roguelike itch. It was fun while it lasted, but I don't think I'll ever revisit it.    … Expand
