Brick is still a gripping thriller. It's well-made, but there is something lacking overall that could have been made better by diving deeper into the relationships of the central characters.

Cellar Door may not provide intense emotional payoffs, or twists that come as a complete surprise, but the actors deliver great performances, and it's intriguing to watch as the central couple's lives unravel.

It's not particularly memorable or an all-time great action story, but it's decent, and the quality is there. Off the Grid is an overall satisfying action movie as long as you're willing to look past the bare-bones plot.

Fortunately, Brave the Dark does deliver an engaging and enjoyable narrative, with excellent performances, an intriguing and compelling plot, and an important message worth listening to.

The result may not be groundbreaking, but it's fun and it does what it sets out to do, creating an interesting supernatural horror that keeps tensions high.

It delivers a beautiful and promising dressing before unveiling a largely by-the-book story. It is not bad by any means, but it doesn't push the envelope or explore anything new, either. Slingshot is a pleasant watch, but it doesn't ever rise above that.
