This is that type of comedy that doesn't care if it insults you and that's why it works. Aya Cash keeps growing as an actress and the plotline becomes creative when it tries to explore the cruel aspects of the leads humor with their own lives dramas.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You know how "Always Sunny" got better and better in the first few seasons? Well, this is nothing like it. Season 1 was killer funny, season 2 carried on the hilarity but the departure from the carefree obnoxiously funny characters we'd grown to love was beginning to become apparent. Gretchen's depression won't go away and why should it? That's the reason we fell in love with the show in the first place (being sarcastic). I don't know why shows move away from their core theme. Now we're spending an entire episode exploring medical marijuana and PTSD or another episode digging in to the origins of Gretchen's depression; the latest one was about Vernon and Paul getting stuck in a forest. I'm finding more and more that creators never think past the first season when they're drawing the blueprint! I'll still watch it though because The Heart is a Dumb Dumb (one of the best episodes ever). Expand

Seems the U.S. still hasn't had its fill of obnoxious English males whose typical facial expression suggests they're sniffing dog turd. Frankly I do not understand the fascination with obnoxious trolls with upper class accents and vulgar trashy personalities. I doubt anyone raised in an English household, like me, finds this stuff amusing. Just brings back memories of rude uptightSeems the U.S. still hasn't had its fill of obnoxious English males whose typical facial expression suggests they're sniffing dog turd. Perfect realistic encapsulation of some aspects of relationships, mental health, and being an actual human being. This show exceeds where many other comedies falter: making reality funny. FX and FXX really seem to have this comedic area in the bag with its slate of comedies.

The return of You’re the Worst is a welcome event, a great way to fill in some of the TV dead zone between now and the mid-September rush.

This series continues to excel on all the black comedic levels it has before. The dialogue is still sharp as a serrated knife, the situations in which the characters find themselves still amuse and surprise.

Falk and company--they really go for it, whatever “it” it is they intend.
