this is such a caricature that it's frustrating to watch without loosing your patience. Let's be fair, it's aimed at young kids, nothing more.

It is not for me.
Big bang theory spin off, based on a younger version of one of the most irritating charcarter of that series.
Aimed toward young audience it looks and feel like a fanfiction.

This is a really great show that breaks from the laugh-track sitcom formula of the big bang theory and creates a funny AND heartwarming show with touching moments and likable characters.

It's still very enjoyable but the plotlines are running a bit thin. Mimo and Missy are the best characters now!

It's very relaxing, funny, well-acting shows, kinda touching when some scenes are related with the actual TBBT, oh those are good old days.

At first, the thought of a prequel show for the Big Bang Theory is questionable, but Jon Favreau once again proves me wrong.

I was, however, a bit taken back by the end of the Oct. 17 episode in which the sister throws an apple at the head of a boy. Just because he liked someone else. Thirty years ago it may have been funny, but I don't think it is today. I wonder what the reaction would have been if a boy had thrown an apple at her head? It depicts an often ignored double-standard that exists in entertainment these days. Expand

I saw some amusing shorts on YouTube from the show, otherwise it would have never landed on my radar. I liked what I saw so I figured I'd give it a try. Typically this is not my type of genre but that turned out to be a huge positive. UsuallyI saw some amusing shorts on YouTube from the show, otherwise it would have never landed on my radar. I liked what I saw so I figured I'd give it a try. Typically this is not my type of genre but that turned out to be a huge positive. Usually there is always some thrilling drama, action, violence, sexuality, or what have you, but not here. Instead you get an innocent, heart-warming plot with lots of adorable moments. I often found myself going from tears in my eyes to bright smiles.

Of course a miniature hero in the form of Sheldon Cooper stands at the heart of the show who is surrounded by a lovable cast in a credible small Texan town set in the 80s. The sets, details, and environments are convincing at all times and lend the show an American charm of a golden past. I found myself drifting off and day-dreaming frequently, wondering how life would have been in Texas during such a time. The jokes and humor of the show are not out of this world mind-blowing, but instead grounded and credible which I prefer much more. No laugh tracks, just genuine grins and chuckles. Each member of the main cast is likable and they all bring unique nuances into the family mix. Parenthood, struggle for employment and money, finding your place in your local community, commentary on faith, life with siblings, are just some of the themes that the series touches upon.

At the moment of writing this, I am finishing up on the last available season six and I actually feel an urge to start a re-watch almost immediately. The show starts very strong in the first seasons and builds a good foundation. However, as with most television series, Young Sheldon too, does start to deteriorate from around Season 05 onwards.

Don't get me wrong, I still find it enjoyable, however they are mixing in more and more drama to add unneeded tension to the show. At this point I enumerate some spoiler-free examples of what those are, but this good for nothing piece of filthy **** site won't accept my two lines of **** text, nor does it place my paragraphs where I set them. How can you get this so **** wrong, on an ancient, good for nothing, web1.0 site that hasn't been updated in 450 years? Utterly useless and worthless. Back to the review: In other words, the show started with innocence and touching moments at its foundation and has wholly departed therefrom in favor of something on the opposite side of the spectrum. As I said, I've come to appreciate this show for that and now I'm increasingly left with a sour aftertaste with all of these blown-up issues that I'd rather not deal with or see. That might sound incredibly sensitive at first, but I've seen all of these themes a million times in other generic shows, hence why I appreciated where Young Sheldon was headed initially. It all culminates with a miniature Skylar White, who acts in the most unrelatable and alien ways you could imagine. I find her scenes genuinely hard to watch. If this is the direction they are planning on heading, then it will be all down-hill from Season 7 onwards. But maybe this is the only available path left to travel. There is only so many times you can go over the same themes from different angles. It also appears as if Sheldon drifts off into the background more and more as all the other characters are being fleshed out and drawn to the foreground. Not sure what to think of that yet. All I really need and want from this spectacle is to show me that everything's going to be alright in the end. Maybe I am judging the current season (6) prematurely and it'll all work out in the end. I imagine it's a tough job to bridge the gap between an adorable little child to teenage Sheldon to THE Sheldon Cooper of Big Bang Theory. Who knows what they have planned. As it stands, I think my watch has been worth it. Bottom line: A great show that turned out to be surprisingly uplifting and heart-warming.

The presence of that kid could bring out the rage in even the Dali Lama. His face is just so unbelievably punchable, and I guess if you didn't enjoy Big Bang theory, you're not the target audience so disliking it shouldn't be a surprise. A good show, no laugh track which is good because nobody wants to hear a laugh track every 2 seconds. Despite not being the titular character of the show, characters Georgie, Missy, Meemaw and George Cooper absolutely carry this show. SheldonA good show, no laugh track which is good because nobody wants to hear a laugh track every 2 seconds. Despite not being the titular character of the show, characters Georgie, Missy, Meemaw and George Cooper absolutely carry this show. Sheldon is a very obnoxious, selfish, and just very annoying in general, almost like his Big Bang Theory counterpart. Though, this just means the actor is very good at making me dislike him. Expand
