    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Following the death of Gabrielle in the season three finale, Xena’s fourth season generally takes a darker tone with less one-off comedic episodes and more focus on the overarching plot-lines.

    Some fans were disappointed by this, and I personally wasn’t a big fan of a couple of the episodes set in India, but what it loses in laughs it makes up for with strong writing and gripping drama as long hinted at events finally come to pass.    … Expand
