Though only two episodes of the series were provided for this review, those were enough to determine that the series is built on a fairly solid foundation, and should continue to thrive and find its audience should they avoid the temptation to try and fit a network TV procedural peg into a prestige TV-sized hole.

Even with its corny dialogue and predictable beats, Wild Cards is still an extremely enjoyable time, especially if you have been missing the kind of breezy, easy-viewing shows networks like USA and The CW of olde once provided.

Enter Wild Cards, a show that is just fine. It is not reinventing the wheel, nor is it even coming anywhere close to perfecting the wheel, at least in these first couple of episodes. But it's hitting those old familiar beats that are enjoyable, even soothing, to watch, with very pleasant and likable characters at its core.
