Voir is an object lesson in the importance of a good performance. I think that we would have all been willing to look past the unambitious, frequently-pretentious and seldom-incisive writing if the performances in series had clicked. But ifVoir is an object lesson in the importance of a good performance. I think that we would have all been willing to look past the unambitious, frequently-pretentious and seldom-incisive writing if the performances in series had clicked. But if you've ever wondered whether film critics and bloggers would also make good narrators, Voir provides a pretty definitive answer: absolutely not. Based on these six episodes, it does not appear that film critics and bloggers can even consistently write competently in their areas of expertise (looking at you, Episode 3's Drew McSweeny), let alone deliver a human performance of their own writing (Taylor Ramos, please keep writing and directing but hire someone else to perform your words). The overall result is Netflix-quality production and editing (fine) less than youtube-quality writing (poor) and performances that sound like someone's very first day at their very first job working at a call center. You might hope that Sasha Stone's abysmal performance in Episode 1 is the exception. Sadly, it is the rule. Expand

Each episode has about 3 to 5 minutes worth of content. Each episode is at least 20 minutes long. You do the math.
