Fantastic show. Great history lesson on the evolution of the portrayal of LGBT people. Loved it!

The bigots are out in full force brigading the ratings because they can't stand when minorities' stories are told on the screen. And then they expect to take audience ratings seriously. Pfff....

As a member of the LGBTQ community, this series makes me proud to be part of a community that advocates for love in a world that is currently driven by hate. Everyone, regardless, of who you are or how you identify should see this monumental series that declares our impact on society and that our voices will continue to resonate and be heard. Stay strong.

Really great and much needed documentary on representation of the LGBTQ community during the last couple decades. The negative ratings are from homophobes, don’t listen to them. If you want to learn something, watch the documentary and make up your own mind.

    Wonderfully through, powerfully outspoken five-part docuseries. [17 Feb - 1 Mar 2020, p.9]

While it feels like a 101-level course in LGBTQIA+ representation in TV, Visible: Out On Television is still a good overview of just how far the medium has come in this regard, and how far it has to go.

Spanning seven decades, Visible is comprehensive and fast-paced without sacrificing analytical depth. Even those well-versed in the subject should encounter surprises. ... White has created a fantastic and fair-minded account of the first several decades of LGBTQ representation.
