Dec 28, 2021If you've got nothing better to watch Vigil was alright, the sub/navy stuff is interesting in a "hunt for red october"/"crimson tide" kinda way, but the story does get a bit ploding

Jan 9, 2022This show was comically bad. I advise anyone interested in watching this to save themselves from wasting their time on something fruitless.

Dec 31, 2021I love this show. I found it to be very entertaining so I'm shocked at the other user reviews.

Dec 30, 2021A reasonably good idea riddled with WOKE themes and ideas and a very plodding narrative. It should be titled "How to Ruin a Mystery". I actually stopped watching the show halfway through the fifth episode. Not worth it at all.

Feb 3, 2023This poiltical/murder thriller uses the clostraphobic confides of the submarine to build the tension well, but it does suffer from overegging the pudding with the plot which can be frustrating.

There’s a boatload of plotlines in “Vigil,” one of the better thriller series of the year and one in which a tangled web of intrigues is made as believable as the fathomless ability of humans to complicate a situation—at least long enough to last a satisfying six episodes.

I was bored. I know it was a deliberate ploy to create a suffocating, airless atmosphere in which the walls are closing in and you fear for the ambience of the submarine lavatories, but the stultifying effect was almost too successful. During episode two my family yawned and abandoned ship.

A relentless conspiracy drama bursting with performers who know how to keep their cards close to their chests. British TV doesn’t get more thrilling than this.
