    I get its meant to be a parody, but it could have been better, it definitely is not as bad as most make it out to be though thats for sure.

    Honestly I don’t understand the intense backlash to this how. It’s not as good as Harley Quinn and has a few less than rad jokes, but it’s overall very enjoyable and pretty funny. My guess is people feel the need to be extremely critical of women of color and that’s why white men can play the same character over and over, but Mindy Khaling gets insane hate for it.     A hateful, uninspired, unfunny, and painful watching experience. This show would never have been made if it wasn't for the Scooby-Doo IP take that away and it has no leg to stand on. The only thing remotely good about the show is the animation wasted on this stinking pile.

    The plot looks very interesting and I like the art style. Don't listen to the racists, sexists, misogynists and trolls that are bombing the show. I'm glad they green-lit a second season because it is really a pretty fun show. I don't get the massive amount of hate it is receiving.

    If you go into this show with the mentality that it's a troll made by family guy wannabes, it's actually half funny to laugh off the pure incompetence of it. The jokes and the "comedic" nature of the show is just stupid and uninspired. So many meta and allegory type jokes, I really expected some literal cutaway gags.

    As a series, Velma is completely incomprehensible. For whom is the series intended? What is the point of the series? Do the creators of the series have personal frustrations? Even if I went on with these questions, there would still be a question left. My last question would be :D Who allowed it and why?

    I see it as my duty to warn you. The show is so bad that a lot of people think it was created to get viewers into „Hate watching“ to boost viewership and social media presence. Also it is a Scooby-Doo show without Scooby-Doo while you barley recognize the other characters. I would not recognize Velma, Shaggy (aka Norville) or Daphne. Fred I would recognize by looks but he is dumb down toI see it as my duty to warn you. I feels so different that I would not be surprised if this was something completely different before they added the Scooby-Doo name. I loved the Scooby-Doo cartons as kid and have watched dozens of episodes. With this the show feels like an insult in comparison. To be fair the animations are good and the voice actors deliver their roles. I would not hold a bad script against a voice actor or actor. The script and changes are the main source of the problems. Do not pull out the misogyny or racist defense as this is not the case. We nerds like strong female leads like Ellen Ripley, Buffy, the original Velma, Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh and many more. Diversity is neither a problem. I like Peter Grant, Rozie Oshodie, Michelle Yeoh and many other characters. A bad show is just a bad show. Look at “House of Dragons” for comparison how they silenced the critics with awesome characters, a great story and a huge entertainment value. Overall I have to give a 0/10 which pains me for a Scooby-Doo show but there was no other choice.… Expand

    Velma es una serie que me deja con sentimientos encontrados. Parto de la base que de que la calificación que le fue brindada no es demasiado justa. La mayoría de la gente vio el tráiler de la serie y ya sabia de los cambios que se hacían. Tiene de todo, un popurri de elementos que representan a la saciedad de hoy en día y que a la vez se burla de ellos.

    If you told me that this show was originally intended to be something else before being reworked as a Scooby-Doo spin-off, I'd believe you. As much as I tried to get into it and gave it a fair chance, I just couldn't stomach it after those first two episodes.

    nah it's not as bad as everyone is saying. There is some funny parts, but I mean it is a very left leaning cartoon but it isn't as bad as people are saying. I don't know exactly who this cartoon is for, maybe like a teenager. It's just ok but it isn't the worse thing I've seen.

    It takes exactly 48 seconds to set the tone (and it's not a good one) of the show. After that, it's all downhill. It's like the creators of the show just threw their personal frustrations in the show.

These need to be watched to understand what is wrong with America today: Extreme navel-gazing in self-referencing, lazy sophomoric "breaking the 4th wall" to pretend "edginess" and inflation of gratuitous violence matched by hypocritical woke nudity...without showing the goods.
    I hope some of those "professional" (professional at being woke and following the herd)    Watched for 5 minutes. These need to be watched to understand what is wrong with America today: Extreme navel-gazing in self-referencing, lazy sophomoric "breaking the 4th wall" to pretend "edginess" and inflation of gratuitous violence matched by hypocritical woke nudity...without showing the goods.

What would the creators of Scooby-Doo think about what they've done to the franchise with this show? It's just full of lazy woke 'jokes' with no subtlety at all as the writers probably don't have the talent to write in such a way.     Velma is an often funny take on the classic Scooby-Doo series with plenty of risqué humor. But it’s unfortunate that most of what makes Velma funny is completely unrelated to the character who gets a starring role.

    The show actually is misogynist, and totally devoid of nuance. ... Velma’s mistakes might be forgivable if it was at least funny. But it’s not. And so, we’re left with a show that makes no one laugh and makes everyone mad, and doesn’t even have a great theme song.
