    Loved the books, hate how racists black-washed the show. Ruined the writing and cultural setting.

    Knew it was going to be bad with the casting so I wasn't too surprised when I dropped it after 3 episode. The writing was just as bad. Total trash.

    Bad acting. No chemistry between main characters. Stunts are unrealistic. Outfits are all over the place (what century is this meant to be in?). CGI is horrible. Overall, it just seems cheap.

    One just learns to be wary of book adaptations, but i'm absolutely loving this one so far and it's all thanks to the amazing job the cast is doing!!

    Most of the audience reviews here are dated the first week the show came out. Difficult to review a show when you have only seen 4 episodes. I think the bad reviews are fans of the books that are salty they do not stick to the book plots.

    The show seems to want to have it both ways: to suck you into its sprawling world, with its endlessly complicated lore, while hand-waving over the world’s basic details. There are worse problems for a series to have than a surplus of storylines and ideas, and Vampire Academy‘s excess does often make for a tasty binge. It’s just not always a totally satisfying one.
