This show gets better by the episode. The male and female lead are both amazing and have great chemistry. It's also way funnier than I was expecting.

The show offers an interesting take on afterlife: the cloud that already today offers access to a lot of services and stores or processes more and more data, has become the future heaven or hell. Technologically speaking, everything shown in the episodes is science-fiction, but it connects very well to our present day with things like VR, cloud computing and self driving cars. Technologically speaking, everything shown in the episodes is science-fiction, but it connects very well to our present day with things like VR, cloud computing and self driving cars. This makes the story believable and attractive at the same time. The actors all do a good job and the location is very chosen. I am really looking forward to the second season… but one thing I know for sure: I don’t want to be uploaded. Expand

It’s good, but there’s A LOT that really doesn’t make sense about this show at all

Love the show! Robbie Amell and Andy Allo are great and I’m a big fan of theirs. Good humor, likeable characters and a captivating story. I also love the projected future tech all throughout the show, it shows that they care and aren't lazy.

At first it seems like Daniels is going to mainly satirize our modern world, which the show does reliably and deliciously. But as “Upload” progresses a conspiracy theory pushes forward and the underlying theme of income inequality becomes clear. Still, “Upload” never forgets to be funny.

Daniels has succeeded to make the afterlife look like hell in Upload, even if it’s a hell with colorful foliage. And that’s just the kind of show we want to see right about now. But we also know he knows how to build a funny ensemble we’ll care about, and he’s on the way to doing that after the first episode.

The intricately realized setting needs a story, however, at which point this fertile if familiar premise begins to suffer. ... He’s got some substantive ideas about inequality, technology and how one feeds the other; they only need time to be developed. The 10 episodes, some longer than 30 minutes and some shorter, hustle us through a linear plot pieced together from used-up components.
