What scummy **** Every time he came on the camera I straight up vomited. Like I think I could sue them for how many shirts of mine they ruined because Carters deformed and highly punchable face came on the screen. I nearly cut myself to death because of that horrible monstrosity. His lack of any respectable or even close to likable traits is an insult to our race, it's like a piece of our collective soul dies every time that guy utters a sound. 0/10 for the show, jesus. Carter Thicke is literally the biggest god damn pool of scummy **** water I've ever seen in my whole life. I came here for Tonya, stayed for Alan, and almost **** hung myself because of Carter. Every god damn thing that comes out of his mouth is unadulterated retardation. I got literally 9 minutes into the show before having a **** brain aneurysm. 0 out of Eternity.

Big points go to savvy, fast-talking son Carter, who is just as entertaining as the (growing) pains of his old man. [18/25 Apr 2014, p.100]

Unusually Thicke is more staged than most sitcoms, and Thicke’s history as a sitcom dad (“Growing Pains”) and latenight host (honest, kids, he had his own show back before you were born) has helped him cultivate his repertoire of deadpan looks and direct-to-camera winks.
