Season 1 Review:
Undateable still doesn't quite capture the zany entirety of D'Elia's comic style, but it comes closer than anything he's done so far. The rest of the cast is solid; the writing works; the familiar situation is at least freshened by snappy direction and appealing characters.

The Undateable pilot was a real chore to get through, in part because Danny is just such an obnoxious collection of dude-bro stereotypes.... Later episodes get better, because they start moving away from the idea of Danny as some kind of sexual Jedi master whom the others are lucky to be learning from.

The show's main problem is that the guys, straddling the line between undateable-cute and undateable-unlikeable, more frequently fall into the latter camp. [2 Jun 2014, p.46]
