An interesting premise, but terrible show. Doesn't know what it wants to be so tries to be everything at once, and fails. By episode 5 I just wanted all the characters to die and end their misery as well as mine. Stopped watching after that. Do not recommend.

Just finished the series and I am in love with this show! All the cast was amazing and I really like Eric McCormack as team lead. I hope this gets renewed for another season as I don't want to lose another great sci fi.

The show has an interesting premise. The acting is solid. But the pace is all wrong. You have episodes that are great and then you have bottle episodes, where characters are dreaming and that is painfully boring.

Character development, main plot, action, dialogue - it just fits perfectly. It really does keep you engaged. This of course wouldn't be as enjoyable if actors didn't perform as well as they did. An old man in a young mans body, two different versions of you - you would think there would be some dissonance, something to remind you that it's just a show. But they just enchant you, and you are completely immersed in this amazing story. And the story is good enough to be a bestseller book on its own! Good work with music too, it keeps your heart beating just at the right pace. Wonderful feast for every sci-fi fan. Can't wait for season 2. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I must say this is an interesting concept for a show: People from the future taking over the bodies and minds of people living in the 21st century in an attempt to alter the future, which it appears is very bleak if one follows the plotlines every week.

This isn’t the best science fiction show ever to grace the airwaves, but at least it isn’t the same old scenario where the heroes are a human male/female team, or group of people dressed up in capes and having super powers.

Most of the characters in this show still display the flaws they had before being “taken over” by this mysterious “Director”. It would be nice to see an episode showing what the future looks like so that viewers can have a better perspective of what the “Travelers” know.

Brilliant sci fi, really love this show.
Good acting and casting, great premise, story, plot and enough interesting twists to keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
Well done Brad Wright once again, who brought us Stargate Universe and now this. Let's hope the execs who cancelled SGU after only two seasons ( it was the most brilliant sci fi on TV for ages ) don't do it again

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Time travel is hard to do right. This show tried and failed, not always miserably.

If you have a good memory and cannot stop doing basic reasoning on what you hear or see, you will not enjoy it.

We follow some agents from the future that are here to save humanity. (No pressure)
They have to follow some rules that make more or less sense and are sworn to obey the intelligence behind the great plan.

The intelligence itself has to follow some other rules (because it's "the good guys") and sending somebody back can only be done under some specific conditions. For example it has to know the exact position a few seconds before the time of death of the recipient, It can never use somebody that was not about to die. (Of course there rules are broken when it suits the plot, and coherence be damned)

In almost every single episode, the champions of humanity are acting like your everyday naive idiot. An example ? A member of the team gets some medication from some very suspect woman to keep him from hard drugs, allegedly. The MD will barely raise and eyebrow and days later, after the "cured" guy acts like even more like a violent junkie looking for its next fix, the "wise guy" of the team, the oldest soul, will only make a comment to the crazy teammate but nothing more will be done to get to the bottom of what looks like some very dangerous and very suspect situation. (Knowing they have enemies)

There is a made-up rule that say one cannot send a traveler earlier that the last one that was sent because of some ripple effect. Which is nonsense (even in this context) as the future is allegedly always fixing by incremental changes and can kill any adult by making it a phone (making a possible problem disappear). It is clear this was though-up to induce a weakness in the plan, and this is actually said in one episode "we get one go at this, there is no do-over"

Speaking of which. The arch-nemesis of the serie is an insult to the intelligence of the viewer. The first traveler ever refused to kill himself (because, reasons, don't even try to make sense of it). The guy was on one of the tower of 9/11 and we have to believe him exiting the building alive was not caught on the always spying eye of the future ? That in the years that followed he never was close to a device that could spot him ?
Killing his wife making her a messenger to basically ask him to kill himself was a better plan than, say, sending somebody inside her (still killing her, mind) to
    do the job ?
But given the number of stupid mistakes this Deus Ex Machina does (so something bad can happen, lazy storytelling 101 a.k.a Macguffin) this is not really a surprise the spectator can come up with a better solution in a couple of seconds while hanging the laundry ...

I could go on and on and on ... and this is only about the laziness of the writing.

I will barely mention the situation where a tiny skinny girl beating up a group of violent guys (maybe they were particularly ticklish) and other accidental comical situations.

The show is not all bad though. Sometimes, every few episodes, there is some scene that made sense and looked properly prepared to unravel slowly. Some scene that would make me smile. It was always ruined in the next five minutes though, but still.

I don't have anything bad to say on the acting, the effects or the music so they are probably adequate, at the very least (not that I had my eyes on the TV : I've endured this to have some "noise" in the house while doing various chores

The one show that I've seen completely was the last episode of season two. Probably one of the worst episodes when it comes to coherence and rationality. I may not be the most feeling-oriented guy on the planet, but what happened there was just ... artificial, irrational, uncalled for.

Decent TV show. Very good character development throughout the show and interesting storylines. About the only issue I had with the show was the method as to how the 'travelers' passed through the future into the present time. It;s a little odd. However, minor issue that did not prevent me from enjoying the show and looking forward to season two.

Those that have watched the series are die-hards, get out and read some of the comments on social media. I have recommended it to all my friends on Social Media who have Netflix and none have have given it a thumbs down. The only thing I have heard is OMG now we have to wait for season two now! The characters on this series all have issues as leaping into another person's body before they die and take over their mind has it's consequences. Think about it as you don't get to pick or choose, you just leap into someone else's body in the future to help save the world. Great show great acting and I can't wait for Season two as Season one left us with a mind boggling cliffhanger. Kudo's to producers, as again its one of my favorites, could be yours too if you get it a shot! Got solid reviews on Imdb with an average of 8 based on over 15,000 reviews, not sure why someone is out for it on here, usually Metacritic has similar scores. Expand

But the travelers move from the future - in a one way trip - by inhabiting the bodies of 20th century induviduals just before they are fated to pass away. That however means inheriting their hosts lives with all its ups and downs. Including drug addictions, illnesses and abusive boyfriends. The cell is far from alone. There are thousands of travelers all over the world. Most work for the "Director" but not all have the same agenda. There are other factions that have different ideas about what the saved world should look like - and who should be in charge. At the same time not all missions are pleasant, and not all pleasant people (including team members) are vital to the missions (and so not judged to be worth saving).

In short, I highly recommend this series.

Very clever show with great characters and some new (at least for me) ideas implemented really well. It is very refreshing to see this kind of sci-fi that doesn't try to impress you with crazy special effects but instead focus on the story and the character development in this unusual setting.

6.0? Ridiculous. It looks like the same thing that happened to Marco Polo: a world-class TV series getting rating-buried by fake ratings from Netflix' competition. Notice how few of the haters actually had anything to say along with their downvotes.

Season 2 episode 9 what a crock. Why do you have to put kids being molested by coaches or anyone else! Now you are just like the rest of TV and I am sick of having to have this thrown in our faces we are all aware that this goes on! Can't you make a TV series without this go back to season one and rewrite season 3 I know from here on end all seasons to come is gonna suck!

fresh air wish I found it sooner to watch the story and acting awesome I don't know why it was cancelled you could get at least 3 more seasons so much potential , do not understand why good shows get cancelled and reality trash gets kept on. There isn't much descent stuff on Netflix to this level and it gets cancelled stupid business sense.

I just finished watching Season 3. This show only gets better and better. Great acting, interesting characters, a fresh take on time traveling, so what's not to like? The pacing with which we are introduced to what is actually going on is perfect, making it really hard not to binge.

I can't remember the last time I've waited in anticipation for the news that a show has been renewed.

It’s possible the show could grow heavier tonally in the later episodes, but judging from what we’ve seen so far, it’s just the kind of escapist fare that we need right now during the holidays but also in the current political climate.

It’s hard to find a fresh take on the time-travel conceit, since it’s been around so long and has been so heavily mined lately, but Travelers has some attention-grabbing flourishes and fine acting.
