Terrible casting and writing. This is like having Tik Tok stars reenact WW2 themed scenes. It's supposed to be a period piece so when everyone sounds like they graduated Highschool in 2020 the whole vibe is just off. Waste of alot of money and a good premise.

Critics call this show "accessible", what a nice euphemism for "dumb enough for average 'Murican". Stoopid WW2 porn. Morbid fascination for Nazis. Netflix. Enough said.

Enchanting and courageous characters, a very engaging storyline and the wonderful blue setting of Marseilles. The result is a miraculous tv series that will definitely make you believe in good human nature against all odds. I couldn't get out of the atmosphere long after I finished watching it. But come on Netflix, we really had more than enough of LGBTI+ pumping into our eyes and souls..

Solid. ... It’s impossible to do justice to radical genius within the constraints of a middlebrow template. For all its technical competence and moral care, Transatlantic falls short of the art and ideas that inspired it.

Transatlantic takes a serious story and gives it a bit of a bouncy, adventurous edge, thanks to some crisp writing and a fun lead performance by Jacobs. But it still pays reverence to the people who risked everything to help Nazi refugees, as well as the refugees themselves.

As a palatable history lesson, Transatlantic is comprehensive. ... Transatlantic struggles, however, to weave its learning points elegantly into the drama, to show rather than tell.
