    With barely any deviation from the old format (the new spending limit has been raised from $1,000 to $2,000), the show offers a quick reminder of what made it so addictively watchable back in the day.

    On the new version, very little has changed. The bubbly Paige Davis is back to host, as are many of the designers and carpenters, including Ty Pennington, who is effectively demoted from his antic “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” days.
