Season 8 Review:
So we have some of the best, and/or most likable, contestants in the history of the franchise, we have the most entertaining judge back, and the first two challenges very smartly play off the history of both the show and its contestants. What's not to like? I doubt this brings me back for the next standard season, but for this one? I'm in.

Season 21 Review:
We hope that there will be more rule shakeups this season on Top Chef, as the show had started to become a bit rote over its past half-a-dozen seasons or so. But with the change in when immunity is won, and the new perspective Kish gives as host, Season 21 is off to a good start.

Season 6 Review:
The personal circus, while given much play, remains secondary to the cooking contest. And as usual, the crop of contestants is claimed to be the most talented yet, and they do seem well-credentialed (James Beard nominees, Michelin-star-winner), competitive and more than usually tattooed.

Season 8 Review:
Their tone remains generally civilized, but also awkward enough to make for entertaining television. Still, the more casual viewer may find that All-Stars seems to throw around a lot of "you had to be there" jokes and dramas. The food drill remains the same--contestants cook, judges assess--but the interplay among the chefs clearly is shaped in part by the back stories.
