Show basically no one asked for like titans go, if anything they just need to continue teen titans. At least it got it right and was enjoyable.

Shame on the producers and directors of Titans 2 for turning a dark serious series (which actually turned it into a surprise success in the first place) into a force-fed humorous teenagish series much like the many other cheap sappy Arrow verse productions. Un realistic, terrible stories. Lame death of Dona troy. It was a total disaster. Very sad!!!

Close to absolutely unwatchable. The story seems to be written by a second grader. Characters... there aren't any in it. Visuals... laughable... Easy skip

Started off rocky but is really starting to hit its stride in Season 2. Just know that the cast still has not yet come together as a team, which is one of the only frustrating elements of an otherwise rock solid genre show. Expand

Titans season 2 showed so much potential, but tries too hard to do way too much and too quickly. This is a classic case of less is more.

For a while, I thought this season was better than the first, but the show fails the landing in the final third.

The plot was at first definitely more interesting than the last with it's vague end-of-the-world conspiracies. Here, the show goes into the sad tale of why the original Titans team broke up in the first place. The season fits in a surprising number of Titans, about 11, and accomplishes the difficult task of making all the characters interesting and giving them room to breathe.

Unfortunately, things fall apart. For a superhero team, the characters end up spending too much time apart. Eventually there are unnecessary tangents. To be fair, I did think the final episode ended things well enough.

There is way too much personal drama. For a superhero show, there is a surprisingly small amount of fighting.

I had thought that this season had stopped trying so hard to be edgy, but I'm afraid that these moments pop up again int the second half. There are these scenes that are dark and mature and feel unnatural.

One of the main villains Deathstroke (Esai Morales), is a great antagonist, both being a formidable fighter and tactician while having a strong backstory. (Though, the characters does lose his way a bit with the rest of the plot near the end.) The other main antagonist in this is rather disappointing. The character is evil-for-the-sake-evil and feels manufactured and impractical.

Ultimately, I liked the last season better. Despite its flaws, I thought this was decent just not must-see TV.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Finished season 2 of Titans and it was so much better than season 1, near perfect. The acting from Curran Walters, Ryan Potter, Teagan Croft, Joshua Orpin, Alan Ritchson, Brenton Thwaites, Esai Morales, Conor Leslie, Anna Diop, Chelsea Zhang, Minka Kelly, Chella Man, Natalie Gumede, Iain Glen, and Michael Mosley was phenomenal. The chemistry was exceptional between the cast just like last season. The writing was fantastic a lot better than first season especially the story, more focused and put together this season. The character development was outstanding especially with Jason, Dick, Rachel, Gar, Donna, Connor, Hank, Rose, Jericho, and Kory. The costumes were stupendous especially ones wore by Brenton Thwaites, Esai Morales, Ryan Potter, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Conor Leslie, Chelsea Zhang, Chella Man, Minka Kelly, and Alan Ritchson. The makeup and hairstyling was excellent especially on Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Minka Kelly, Esai Morales, Natalie Gumede, Chelsea Zhang, Alan Ritchson, Conor Leslie, and Chella Man and the wigs were a lot better this season like Teagan and Minka's that weren't the best the first season. The visual effects were superb especially Rachel's powers, Rose's bones going back into place, Kory's powers, Gar as a tiger, Connor's Powers, and Krypto's powers, Gar as a tiger and Rachel's powers were a lot better looking this season a lot more realistic. The fight choreography was amazing so much better than season 1, a lot more realistic. The music is terrific. Also still love the main title design, it is so cool just love the look and music. The was such a near perfect season, definite A+ 2nd season. Expand

Titans Season 2 has improvements over the first season, but still has some very big mistakes, like a ridiculous end of season or laps that come to uninteresting subplots.
Personally I found it superior to the first one, but not by much difference.

TL;DR - To my puzzlement and confusion, Titans S02 does the thing where instead of choosing 2 or maybe 3 plotlines and focusing on them, they go and stuff the season with so many things turning a possibly strong show into a convoluted mess.

TL;DR - To my puzzlement and confusion, Titans S02 does the thing where instead of choosing 2 or maybe 3 plotlines and focusing on them, they go and stuff the season with so many things turning a possibly strong show into a convoluted mess.
Neither the new story beats get enough attention, neither the holdover storylines from the previous season get full attention, and all of the fantastic performances that the cast is giving just adds up to a mediocre and haphazard watching experience.

    The Good
Every single actor in this show from the time of Season 01 really is great in their roles, the Titans show really hit gold with the casting. Everybody feels authentic and you understand what everyone and why everyone is doing it, no matter the enormous amount of plot-induced stupidity the writers make the characters go through.

I truly cannot single anyone out from the show, the cast are great actors and this is probably the main reason that you will watch this show if it continues. You will really connect with the performances and in turn like the characters, but at some point, you will get bored at all the idiotic things the characters say and do because of the crap writing going on in the show.

The dialogue writing has a marked improvement from S01, you will only roll your eyes a few times in the show but it is not all that good because the dialogue is well written but the content is garbage.

    The Bad

There is so much stupid in this show that some of the criticism leaked out in the positive's section of this review. Truly I think overstuffed and convoluted are two words to really describe this show. It seems the showrunners do not yet realize the casting gold they have struck and hence they make the characters separate every so often and go off on their own dumb storylines because god forbid we get the namesake of the show 'Titans' interact, talk, or otherwise share meaningful scenes together.

I do not know what the writers were thinking, were they under stress to shove un-needed story beats were focusing on just a couple would have made for a better watch and probably easier on the budget. It does the same DC mistake of putting so much into one box that at the end the quantity just deforms the box until it does not look like a box anymore but crumpled and smashed tatters.

The only way that this show knows how to deal with a problem is to introduce another problem, usually, something totally blindsiding the ongoing story beat or force the characters into stupid decisions to cause an additional roadblock. All the season needed was the Titans dealing with the holdover plot points from S01 and introducing the leftover plotline from the old titan's team which were the most interesting parts of the season, we would get to see each of the titans reacting differently to different issues maybe interacting and reacting in different ways to the same issue.

Sadly all the writers seemed to know how to do was to keep making the characters do stupid things and leave, or introduce new plotlines from nowhere and go missing making sure that the Titans spend a lot of the season just not interacting as a team but either alone with other new story beats or in bunches of 2.

A special mention to the editing of this show, holy crap the editing is bad, jarring, and very confusing jumping all over the place. I know people make a big deal with the VFX of the show; there are good shows with crap VFX, but the editing here is something that has no excuse. The editors were either doing their job drunk, under stress at a gunpoint, or really did not care very much.

    Final Words

I could go on for paragraphs with everything that just didn't need to be there, or everything that needed more attention, or everything that was spent too much time on.
I have been a fan of Titans all the way from the animated days, and to my excitement, the portrayal of the characters does feel great thanks to some stellar performances, but this show needs better writing and a focused storyline, we also need to see the titans interact more with each other they spend way to much time apart.

With this show, I am into sunk cost fallacy zone, where after forcing, myself through 2 seasons I have invested too much time that I will watch S03, but I will definitely, be expecting the ax after season 03 if the writing does not get streamlined.

Every character in this show is likeable, whether it's a staple character like Raven or a complete newcomer like Superboy. After all, this show, unlike most other gritty superhero shows made nowadays, is driven more by character development than action. And this is one place this show absolutely nails.

My problem is with the pacing, especially the one from Season 2. It goes completely off. It has a lot of filler content like Dick going to prison just to be alone or Jason Todd living in a house with Rose Wilson. Another problem I have is with the looks. Starfire has curly hair, Beast Boy is just a guy with green hair and he only transforms into a tiger and nothing else, Raven doesn't have a cloak and Rose Wilson looks chubby and has curly hair.

Overall I'd say this is a perfect serial for anyone who grew up watching the cartoons, and also for those who need to be introduced to the mythology. If you're looking for the series which are equivalents of Watchmen, Doom Patrol, The Boys, Daredevil or Punisher, this one absolutely stands on that ground.

More than three-quarters of the episode works to wrap up a storyline we watched almost a year ago, then there’s a classic season finale-feeling parting of ways, then roughly 12-ish minutes that actually feels like a season 2. ... I still came away from “Trigon” really hopeful about Titans season 2. The last quarter or so of the episode moves with a different lightness than anything else that came before it
