I live close to the region where this story is based...makes it hard to overlook the fact that small towns like this don’t have a police chief...it’s RCMP.

The whole story-line off-kilter, sure oil brings in money and changes a small town,

The whole story-line off-kilter, sure oil brings in money and changes a small town, but this dramatization is way too far off the mark...the story line could be so much better; sorry! Cant get into the series, only made it about 20-minutes into 1st episode.

Shows some initial promise but then disappoints. Plot is essentially silly and it just ends a few people killing each other. Third season is the worst, absolute tosh.

Tim Roth pretty much at the top of his game.

Superb story line.

Very believable support cast. Great settings and locations.

Absolutely diabolical mishmash of Tarantino-esque pointless gratuitous violence, pseudo-Fargo shenanigans and some sort of bizarre British comedy sketch show...

Starts well enough with the beautiful Canadian scenery in full effect... but
Absolutely diabolical mishmash of Tarantino-esque pointless gratuitous violence, pseudo-Fargo shenanigans and some sort of bizarre British comedy sketch show...

Starts well enough with the beautiful Canadian scenery in full effect... but then the awful Tim Roth slouches in as the unbelievable-in-any-way supposed 'cop'. An alcoholic, socio-psychopath that suffers no ill effects from his condition and manages to get away with breaking the law at any and all times with no repercussions whatsoever...

It's not worth going into all the ways this show is effed up, it really isn't. Almost worth seeing a couple of episodes though, as you'll know how it's going to go straight away: Badly, and bound to get worse.

The star of the show was the mansion in Season Two, but only because it's in Black Summer S2 as well ;-)

Avoid, or suffer. It's up to you...
